    Judges scoring....

Does this game reward power shots more than jabs in this game?

I ask because I've had a couple of fights online where people have used big punchers like Lamatta, Frazier, etc. and I've used more speed types like Leonard or Jones, Jr. and have TOTALLY out scored them with a fair amount of my success coming from jabs.

Case in point... just had a fight against Lamatta with me as Leonard. Obviously, I know that Lamatta's got a granite chin and devastating power. My strategy was to stay outside, use the jab (very successfully I might add), combinate from time to time, etc.

Punch percentages were: Lamotta 33%, Me 58%. I outscored him by 75 -100 punches but he wins by split decision.

It was good fun fight (though he did throw his special punch quite a bit). I just think that the scoring is somewhat off in this game if the power punches count for that much more.

    Thoughts?

Boxing judges in real life judge on different things, it all depends on what they are looking for. But power shots do score more with judges than jabs. essentially a fighter in real life could run and jab all day, but it will not guarantee him a win. Something Tarver learned the hard way on more than one occassion.

I hear ya... but to me, Ali and Ray Leonard would have never won in real life if that the case. But you make a good point...
