completely agree that the heavyweight division is a snore fest...the only fighters, atleast for me, that could bring attention is the "magic man" antonio tarver and.......well that's actually the only fighter....

the featherweight division has emerged VASTLY because of the fighters coming through the ranks, like my fellow countryman, manny "pacman/the destroyer" pacquiao and of course the mexican legends, marco antonio barrera and erik morales...

and of course the welterweight division with the likes of ricky hatton, antonio margarito, floyd mayweather, mayorga, de la hoya, etc....

and the middleweights with hopkins, jermain taylor, mosley, winky wright...

the heavyweight division is just boring and brings no attention to promoters as of now....

fighter wise the division sucks...excitment wise the division has been pretty good. There have been some heavyweight fights that look like middleweights in there with the number of punches thrown and connected...ie: brewsters last fight, and rahman-toney.

Just wondering how long it will take the IBF to find a reason to strip Wlad...all jokes aside, the division is actually "interesting," but nobody has "IT" which is the problem...

I disagree with everything in the article except for the Ruiz bashing.

The division is in real trouble if a blown up light heavyweight is it's salvation.

The article was written with Americanized goggles on and he has no idea what he is talking about. Boxing, especially heavyweights, is globalized. Articles like this are written by guys who did not know who Calzaghe was, or still don't know, 4 months ago.

Genius, the main point of the article is "the exciting heavyweight boxer is extinct." Americans only come into play as a subset to the main central argument. You need to work on your reading comprehension skills.

PS. Calzaghe is one of the top two greatest super middleweights of all-time and made Lacy look the fool. Glad you know boxing.

You lost all credibility with the "Calzaghe sucks" comment.
