I was thinking the same thing. Where is the thread about this fight? Oh well another example of why Floyd is the pound for pound king. He just dismantled him. I don't think he got caught with a clean shot the whole night. It wasn't as exciting as Gatti or Judah but he got the job done and is inline for the mega payday against de la hoya.

I bought it and was going to make a thread for it, but decided there was really no point seeing as how it went as expected.

People were booing towards the end and everyone started leaving in the 10th round.

Floyd also hurt his hand in the middle of the fight. And in the post-fight in-ring interview, he got into a heated argument with Larry Merchant.

Floyd was going on about how no matter what he does, people like Larry Merchant (analysts) are going to criticize him. And said Larry Merchant should stick to commentating and let him do the boxing.

He was clearly angry and upset about the whole thing. Almost looked like he was about to cry. His lip started quivering a little. Lol.

On another note, Paul Williams looked good on the undercard. Granted, he was fighting someone who accepted the fight on 24 hours notice. He was demolishing the guy. I think he expected the ref to stop the fight a lot sooner than he did.

Again, Floyd just proving why he's the PFP king of boxing and the most dominant force in the sport.

It went just as I predicted and thought he would, he was wayyyy too fast and crafty for Baldomir, who he made look like a joke of a fighter similar to what he did to Gatti.

LOL can't wait to hear what the Floyd haters have to say now or what ludicrous crap they make up to deny his greatness.

There isn't anyone that can touch him, period.

Emanuel Steward and Larry Merchant were going on about how if Floyd was as great as he said he was, he would have ended the fight. They said that the truly great fighters would have knocked Baldomir out if they were getting that shots that Floyd was.

Larry Merchant bringing that up in the interview is what upset Mayweather and made him go off.

Here we go again. For the last time, people were only saying that he ducks comp when he was talking about fighting Spinks and not the linear welterweight champ Baldomir. Also I didnt see anyone on this board say that Baldy would beat PBF. People just wanted to see them fight.

Now I would like to see him fight Mosley or Oscar but after beating Judah and Baldy, I'm willing to accept a fight against lesser comp before taking on Mosley or DLH.

Slow down....I think Mosley and DLH can touch him. I think Margarito, Hatton and Cotto would give him a great fight. I think Paul Williams would give him trouble too (not beat him but give him trouble). This isnt a situation where there is no comp in his division. Now he is the welterweight champ so I look forward to him making some fights with the above boxers. If he goes through 2007 without making a fight w/ one of these above boxers, I will go back to saying he's ducking top fighters.

Saw this aswell last night. It was expected, all Mayweather. He is a great fighter but, I would like to see someone knock him down for a change but until then, he is the PFP king.

Come on now, only one on that list that MIGHT present a problem is Paul Williams and that's just because of his size and reach. I really can't see either Margarito nor Cotto giving him any trouble at all...esp. Cotto who had trouble with Malignaggi, what do you think Floyd would do to him? And as much as I like Ricky Hatton, he would get absolutely destroyed by Floyd. His style fits right into Floyd's strengths and I think we'd see a similar fight as we did last night.

The lack of KO's does hurt Floyd but Baldomir is one tough cat, I didn't see Floyd KO'ing him or even stopping him at any point...Baldomir's chin and his ability to take a punch should be respected. Having said that, he was never in trouble and was dominant the entire fight so for me that's almost as good as getting a early or mid KO.

Floyd said his next fight will be his last. Shame he didn't fight better competition, there actually have been guys out there that would give him trouble and he opted not to fight them. It's worse than Roy Jones in many ways, one could legitimately argue that there wasn't anyone for Roy to fight. There's some guys out there who would test Floyd, but after the JLC fight, he hasn't wanted to fight them.

I read on ESPN that he was really emotional at the press conference, breaking down in tears at a couple of points... I would have like to seen him fight DLH, but at this point in Oscar's career, I doubt he could see PBF...
