Not sure what they need a WGA writer for, but this is the first concrete evidence I've seen that 2K is making a boxing game.
Okay, maybe there is a 2k Boxing Game coming out

Its Don King affiliated and that means that no Golden Boy, Main Events or other promoted fighters will be in the game. I hoep it has a kick *** editor because if it doesnt then I'm sticking with fight night and its "superman" punches.Comment

And I am just not down with create a fighters. I don't want to create Dirk or Lebron, and I sure as hell don't want to create Wlad and Peter and others.Comment

Don King isnt going to sell games and most people if faced with the choice of De la Hoya on one box and King on another....they will chose the Golden Boy.Comment

Re: Okay, maybe there is a 2k Boxing Game coming out
If this is true, this is a bonehead move by 2K. There are plenty of fighters outhere who are unsigned: Lennox, Vitali, Vladamir, Valuev, Peter, PBF, Margarito, Tyson, Calzaghe, Tarver, the Marquez brothers etc.

Honestly, I would be surprised if they were considering all the roster changes EA has had since the first Knockout Kings. Maybe it made better financial sense not to pay more and tie them up if there is no comp? But, I guess they are exclusive considering Mike Tyson Boxing (the only other real game that comes to mind) did not have any of the same fighters. And just for the record, it had a pretty decent heavyweight roster with an assumed small budget.Comment

I say give us what they can afford within thier limmits and give us a detail Create A Boxer mode with a numerical system for everyone can copy some of the talented C.A.B makers creations( A download C.A.B's system too)Poe is an advocate for realistic boxing videogames.Comment

It would cost a fortune to sign all the boxers we want to exclusive contracts.

If it has a deep CAB and a deep name db for the announcer to use then the only thing missing is authentic looking faces. But even then, if it had a Tiger Woods type face generator then that's covered too.
I know not having licences boxers can suck for some people but in my opinion the Fight Night series hasn't even come close to utilising them in the proper manor. Go ahead and fight Chris Byrd and tell me if he fights anything like the real guy. The first time you get tagged with that ******** Flash KO or knockdown punch you'll be screaming. Chris Byrd couldn't KO a narcoleptic in real life but in this game lots of boxers can do things above and beyond their true life personalities.
I for one will be at least renting this game the first day it comes out. Heck, if it has rankings it'll already be more authentic than Fight Night regardless of how many 'real' boxers it has.Comment

I just disagree. This is capital gains that are not being realized by these boxers unless they sign on. If they cannot get any of these boxers at "x," they have an awful marketing/contract department.
I truly think it has more to do with EA and not wanting to put in the effort with the technology to doing all the motion cap stuff for each fighter.Comment

Re: Okay, maybe there is a 2k Boxing Game coming out
I agree with everything except that I don't consider FN3 a "crap" boxing game, but I understand where you are coming from if you are looking for a "boxing sim". I personally think that a pure boxing sim would be boring, if not impossible to pull off, but I am looking for something different then FN3.Comment

Re: Okay, maybe there is a 2k Boxing Game coming out
Yeah, boxing is a sport that I can't see playing a true sim videogame. I mean, I've seen fights where maybe the guy throws 6-10 punches for the whole round, none of which hit. A lot of the time they're just clinching and hanging all over each other with no action at all... that would be a boring game.
I'd like things like fatigue to be more realistic than FNR3 and no parrying really, but I'd be happy if they change those 2 things only as far as gameplay goes. Presentation really needs to step up in the game.Comment
