Mikkel Kessler On Boxing After Dark
Wow, this guy(Kessler) is good-power and smoothness-throws one of the best 1-2 combos (left jab, right cross) I have ever seen. He's the current WBC and WBA Super Middleweight Champ, so let's get a fight going with Joe Calzaghe or Jermain Taylor. Kessler's opponent (previously 24-0, 18 KOs) took all kinds of punishment yet kept on coming. Despite the one sided scoring (I think all judges gave every round to Kessler) this was a very entertaining fight, somewhat like a dominating matador against an outclassed bull.Tags: None -
Re: Mikkel Kessler On Boxing After Dark
What is going to help Kessler but hurt his potential opponents is Kessler is more than willing to fight (and wants to) in the states. Therefore his duckers, which he will have, won't be able to use the crutch that he won't leave Euro soil.
The superfight is with JC and that is the one I want to see (though JC better not overlook Manfredo). Without breaking down film and putting too much thought into it, I think Kessler would beat JT and rather easily. I say this because Kessler gets a lot of knockouts by countering his opponents and JT leaves himself open often and continually comes forward. -

LOL-I didn't know Manfredo was on "The Contender" TV Show and will be trained by none other than "Contender" host Sugar Ray Leonard. Should be interesting, but I'd be shocked if Manfredo won.Comment

I would be surprised but not shocked. JC could easily be overlooking him and Manfredo has already proven he was weight drained and SMW is a much more appropriate class for him. Manfredo has just enough pop to catch him, but JC should win an easy points decision. But with 20,000 tickets already sold and on HBO, anything can happen in that kind of environment.Comment
