    Where is 2k's Boxing Game?

Someone rumored awhile back, that 2k was getting into the boxing ring and releasing a 2k8 Boxing game.

I thought EA no longer had the rights after FN Round 3.

Has anyone else heard this rumor...

Just a rumor. 2k never confirmed making a boxing game. I dont know what you mean about EA having rights though. Any game developer can make a boxing game.

Didn't know that....thought they had a license or contract. With the real boxers. Maybe I read that article wrong, it was on 1up.com and Gamespot awhile back about Take-Two and 2ksports making a boxing title this year...it was suppose to be part of the 2k8 series...

Sadly for EA, even if they did have exclusive contracts with the fighers on Fight Night, 2K could still create a far superior roster to EA's.

The boxing game is probably the same place their QA department is at.....no where to be found!

On a serious note, if 2K does decide to release a boxing game, I'll be very interested in seeing what they have to offer. Fight Night Round 3 was fun for a little while, but it definitely has it's shortfalls. I'd love to see what 2K could offer (assuming they can sign some good boxers past and present).

AllGames.com did an interview with Anthony Chau where he more or less broke the info on All-Pro 2K8. This was last year. He was alos asked about a boxing title, and his comments were that "we have some surprises for 2007."

If EA isn't releasing a Fight Night in 2007, it would be a good time for 2K to enter the field. It's all speculation, so who knows what we'll see.

Boxing is a unique genre for videogames. You don't really need to pay for rights to specific boxers. All you need is a robust CAB mode and the ability to edit records and stats. Let the users create the real boxers if they want.

I would have to agree. Japan does it. Check the thread on Boxer's Road 2. The game is unreal and CAB mode is deep. I play this game daily and its well over a year old.

That's good to hear. And seeing how 2K's marketing strategy is to release information 5 minutes before a game comes out, I'll patiently wait for 2K boxing.
