Am I the only that had Wink Winning? Hop finished strong but I'd give most of the middle rounds to Wink. I don't see how they were giving Hop the rounds where he landed less than 10 punches?? Wink didn't do a ton of damage, neither landed many HUGE shots on the other. Hop had harder punches which we knew this coming in, but if you go round by round I had Wink winning. They were tough rounds to judge, but 117-111 is insane.

It was terrible and a waste of time. I really didn't see either fighter winning the fight. I would have given it a draw and recommend that no one buy another pay per view from either of these has beens again.

It wasn't an action packed fight but what do people expect? Both of these fighters are defensive, tactical fighters. If you want excitement, this was not the fight to watch. Those that appreciate boxing tactics, strategy, and execution liked the fight. These types of fighters actually give me the most enjoyment watching them work and stay tactical and grounded instead of flying off the handle and losing their advantage.

I had Hopkins winning this close fight by a few rounds, so I agree with the decision.

Strangely enough, the best technician in the sport of boxing, in my mind, is Floyd Mayweather. His fights, to most people are boring. To me, he's an absolute wonder. You can say he doesn't punch and just stay away, but that's how you win -- hit your opponent and try not to get hit. The other thing that Mayweather does is adapt his strategy and learn the other fighter on the fly like no one else.

Regardless, it was certainly not a waste of time if you're fan of a certain style. However, if you like all out fighting, MMA-style, then forget it. I love that type of competition too, but I do like these types of matches as well.

I enjoy watching technical matchups. But this wasn't technically sound. There were no clean shots, no real attempts to crack the other boxers defense, it was lead, headbutt, clinch. Rinse and repeat. Winky was flatfooted, Hopkins was more active than he was during the Taylor fights, but still wasn't active with the intent of landing clean shots that would do any damage. When Winky did punch, they were lacking power and looping.

Winky a couple years ago was the most technically sound boxer outside of PBF, but he has really lost alot of what made him great over the last 18 months. I think he was fighting at too high of a weight. Hopkins is Hopkins, you know what you are going to get with him. You might get some good fighting, but more than likely you are going to see him trying to frustrate his opponent through clinching or illegal headnuts, thigh shots on the opposite side of the ref, etc. It is what it is, but its not good technical boxing.
