First Prizefighter Screenshots! (10 Of Em)

10 screens from Don King Presents: Prizefighter have been released providing the first look at the new game. They come from the Xbox 360 version (the Wii and DS will also be seeing the game). The inevitable comparisons between Prizefighter and Fight Night Round 3 will be made at every step and with these screens

It looks ok. It doesn't look better than FN3, which is bizarre seeing as that game's pretty old now. There's also some weird looking punching positions.

Apart from that, the bruising looks brutal and realistic and we can see that fighters come to the ring in their robes, have three people in each corner, a ref (finally, I'm tired of an invisible person stopping the fight on cuts), pyrotechnics and a ring announcer standing in the ring.

To be honest, We should probably wait until we see some moving footage before we criticize too much.

I'm going to be honest here and say that I'm impressed... presentation might rival that of real life boxing on PPV or HBO... accessories such as robe looks nice as well as the referee rules being said before a bout (haven't seen that since Knockout Kings for PSx)

Graphically, it isn't as stunning and photorealistic as Fight Night Round 3... but with the right mechanics, plus the standard 2k sports 60 FPS, we might be in for a real treat... Venom has definitely proved me wrong as I thought they would do a horrid job graphically.

        plus you have to remember...

2k isn't usually known for mindblowing graphics...

gameplay is usually where it is at for them (ex. NBA 2k, CH 2k, All Pro 2k, etc)

I so want this to go the route of Ring King. I don't need professional boxers/names. I need no slugfests and a deep dynasty mode. I absolutely love this screenshot:

EDIT: I love how PastaILoveYouEAPadre takes a shot and says it's nowhere near graphically as impressive as FN.
I haven't bought FN since last gen and it's been pretty much the same game for years.

Plus I can also see why the graphics aren't as stunning as EA's Fight Night... look at all those people ringside... an announcer, ref, 3 corner men, etc... if all of that is coming together and it's 60 fps then wow this game will definitely rock. (IMO of course)

I don't mind taking a hit in graphics if they up the presentation to real life boxing levels. That screenshot looks promising. All I need is an extremely deep career mode, create a boxer, realistic boxing styles (i.e a proper philly shell defense, in-fighting, AI that goes for a points win instead of a knockout) and a two man commentating team.

The graphics look good to me, I am more concerned about realism than graphics. I am going to buy this game the first day it is out and not read any impressions or bugs/glitches on the game and form my own opinion. I am sure there will be some areas that need improvement, but already by looking at the screenshots, it looks like they have read our FN wishlists and put some things in in regards to referees, robes, entrances, etc. Hopefully they have alot more up their sleeve.

I am loving how the first shots are of Vic Darchinyan and Daniel Ponce de Leon. Hopefully this means they are getting lots and lots of real guys, rather than going for a few big names (not a fan of seeing Ken Norton in the other pic, I could go completely without any legends).

It was always so stupid doing a career in the FN games, where you would fight all the legends. So hopefully either they have tons of real guys or just made up fighters in the career mode.

Id gladly exchange the more photo realistic looking graphics of FN for a better atmosphere and gameplay. 2k always immerses you in the sport they are replicating. I dont see how some people would rather have an empty watever arena/stadium, verses a venue that looks and feels alive.

Agreed... can u imagine what the presentation is going to be like?

If the game play is right then I'll be all over this. What these screens show me is depth and attention to ALL the details. These screens seem to present boxing as an EVENT rather than just a fight.

                          Vic Darchinyan
                          Ken Norton
                          Larry Holmes.

ive been burned with boxing games, im just gonna wait and see. if it gets good reviews here, i'll check it out. i do like that they are presenting it as an event and not just 2 guys in a ring.
