    TitleBout 2.5 released

Guys, just a heads up. OOTP developments have released Title Bout 2.5.

The ultimate boxing fight sim. They've got about 6500 fighters now I think and a new online database where you can pull new fighters from with the click of a button. It's pretty flexible and fun as hell. It's based on the board game of the same title created by the Trunzo's back in the 70s.

Yea, this sounds like an ad and spam. Sorry, I don't work for them but I've been a huge fan for years. Anyway, it's pretty much a framework for setting up your own boxing universe right now. It sounds like the next version will have a proper management mode but for now you are pretty much the guy in charge of it all. They have a random fight generator for scheduling bouts and a random fighter generator for building new fictional fighters along with career stage and aging. You can create fighter groups and designate title fights. There's a demo I believe so if you like boxing you might want to give it a shot.

I tried the demo. Reminds me of those text based games back in the days. You know, games back then were more fun. You had to use your imagination coupled with the games and it just seem more fun. I guess I'm being nostalgic. LOL. I didn't see any option for having a boxing "universe" online. Is it all about single player?

PS I won my first fight Was kinda worried cause his eye was F'ed up kinda early in the fight but he just put the beat down on the kid. Ref stopped the fight in the 8th after the guy got up but I guess was looking defenselss after going down for a long 8 count and barely getting back up. Forgot who I was using.

so it's kind of like hobowars? like no actual boxing right?
Could be alright especially if you can go against others ala hobowars.

Right, you don't actually fight. Kind of like every other sports management type game.

You don't actually fight in Fight Night either, you press a bunch of buttons and pretend.

        :^)

So do you give instructions to the fighters before each round?

Yes, you can. Each fighter has a certain number of each strategy they can employ during a fight. For example, Muhammad Ali can use the strategy "Fight Outside" quite often while George Foreman cannot. You can go for a KO a certain number of times based on the fighter's natural tendency. You can order a fighter to fight defensivly or even cover up if he's on the verge of getting KO'd. I believe the fighter intelligence affects weather he actually follows what you just told him.

                        Strategies are:

                        Fight Inside
                        Fight Outside
                        Go For KO
                        Cover Up

For example Ali can be ordered to:

                        Fight Outside 4 rounds.
                        Fight inside 3 rounds.
                        Go for KO 2 rounds.
                        Cover up 3 rounds.

Joe Frazier can be ordered to:

                        Fight Outside 1 round.
                        Fight inside 3 rounds.
                        Go for KO 3 rounds.
                        Cover up 1 round.

did you use ali and frazier as examples because they are in the game or do you create them?
sounds pretty cool actually, I've never tried games like this but maybe now is the time...i've heard people rave to this day about 'out of the park baseball'

First off, public apology for being a dick, never try to be a smartass is the lesson learned.

Yes they are in the game, I didn't add them. There are 6500 fighters rated, they span from the early 1800's to current fighters.

I really like the game, it's based off a board game I played constantly in the late 70's and early 80's.

I can detail specific fighter ratings if anyone is interested.

it was actually funny though, but i just reacted since we hadn't communicated before, so don't hold back now that we're e-aquainted.

what about Rocky M, Joe Louis or Sugar Ray Robinson rating?
is there "out of the ring" stuff like training or diet etc.?
