Quintana looked very good. I figured it would be a cakewalk for Williams.

Went out last night and forget to DVR it. Taped "Countdown To Pavlik Taylor 2" but I think I got a "Legendary Night Chavev/Taylor." I am surprised.

I don't think it was as much Quintana looking good as Williams looked so bad to me IMO.

It was the first time I have seen him fight and he looked like an amateur. His jab has no pop behind it and he seems to throw punches with absolutely no power. He can have one of those Tommy Hearns jabs with his reach but he seems so weak.

I wasn't impressed with either one of them to be honest although Quintana has alot of heart.

If this is the same williams that I'm thinking of, the only fight I've seen from him was the one where a last-minute nobody caught him with a lucky punch and almost ended it. He is highly touted, but seems to have a glass jaw...my bad if i'm thinking of a different boxer.

I think Williams proved he had a good jaw he took a lot of power shots to the head from Quintana. He just looked really bad defensively.

                  Powerful post here.

I was very disappointed in what I saw. Paul just looked unmotivated. I do give credit to Quinatana, he did what he had to do to win. With that said, Paul needed to keep the title he had to stay relevant at 147. Him moving up to 154 isnt the answer as he has no power to compete there. Forrest, DLH, even Spinks are way to crafty and experienced for him at that weight.

I saw a lot of things I did not like from Paul. A lack of focus, non-ability to adjust, little headmovment, but the most tell tell site was how nervously he punches. When you throw a jab you turn over your fist and snap it as you throw it out. Paul semed to just flick his jab this fight kind of slapping the side of Quintanas head with his palm.

I am interested to see what Paul and his camp say went wrong last night. He just did not look like himself.

I agree that any talk of Paul and Floyd is useless. Once Carlos got inside Paul's reach he did not know what to do. After seeing Floyd infight against Hatton, there is no question in my head that he would absolutely klll Paul and KO him.

Williams' loss only makes a Mayweather-Cotto fight make more sense than ever.

I agree 100%....Floyd is pound for pound the best fighter, and Miguel Cotto has beaten the top fighters in the Welterweight divison in Zab Judah and Shane Mosley....And after reading The Ring Magazine they don't believe that a Mayweather-Cotto fight is going to happen....which is a shame see as boxing could use as many great bouts as it can get.......As for Paul Williams,he really didn't impress me at all, like someone posted earlier, his Jab was weak, his punches had no power, and he never seemed to figure out Carlos's Overhand Left Hook, and didn't showcase any type of defense besides blocking punches with his face.........

It will happen....just not in 2008. This fight will make HUGE money in 2009 if floyd beats DLH again and if Cotto beats Margarito.

Cotto beat a washed up Judahn and a waaaay past his prime Mosley by a decision. Please tell me of these top welterweights you speak of?

Williams loss to Quintana only means that Cotto is better than some thought. Means nothing for Floyd.

Williams' loss to Quintanta has no bearing on Cotto.

Williams looked like a mere amateur. It was my first time seeing him and it looked like his very first fight to me.

His cutman couldn't even stop his cuts from bleeding. Did you see how he sent him out for the last round?
