    Showtime Boxing - Nintindo Wii

I just saw this game at a Target store near me. I never heard about this boxing game. I looked at the back of the box and it looks pretty nice. Anybody have this? or know how good the game is?

    thanks in advance

This game suffers from choppy animations throughout. The control and pace is actually halfway decent, but you have to have a lot of patience. (and not patience in the good way) You move so slow there is no footwork speed as far as I know. The only way that I can describe it is it is literally a chess match of boxing. Meaning every move on the chessboard is like a frame. Like there's no fluidity in lunging in and throwing to angles. It's like move, then throw or block. Move again, throw or block. Also there are black screens all over the place. Like after a round ends, before the ring girl comes out black screen loading, then again before the next round. It's just a very low budget game with no production values. It's kind of sad the game is still on shelves and has the name Showtime Championship Boxing.

Gamers should not stand for this lack of quality. Games should always be taking in unique user motion and timing into animations and collision detection. And, frankly, not many devs are really interested in these aspects. I suspect that over the next five years, the standards of quality control for game development will be on the rise.

      Hi PSU_DW2,

Thanks for the comments/review on the game. It's too bad,the graphics didn't look to bad but the gameplay is not so good.

Oh well, I guess we'll have see how PrizeFighter turns out...I hope it's decent!

      thanks again!!
