The fact that the game was made by Venom is what has me worried, that Rocky Legends game was terrible IMHO. I don't know if the studio intentionally shyed away from copying EA's analog control scheme but I'm not sure how I feel about a boxing game going back to the punches being assigned to the face buttons. I agree that the venues look great, but i just feel the models were mediocre.

I realize the game has a linear story mode (another thing that has me worried after the way Fight Night R3 was), but I would be happy if your fighter was able to fail as well as succeed. What i'm saying is that I don't want the fighter to be helped along by the story mode to complete the game if he sucks. Does that make any sense?

I read that the demo will be available before launch so that will be the true test. I want this game to be good, but that GS vid just left a real bad taste in my mouth.

So, I just watched the end of that video again, and it does look like there is a fully functional referee in there moving around. The question is are there actual clinches? Will you be able to jump into a clinch like how they do it in fight night? Will the referee actually come in and break it up? Will there be more than one referee? Referee variability?

I am also wondering what the blocking will be like? Maybe that will be tied to the right analog stick? In Fight Night Round 3, there was a blocking / punching toggle button to engage to switch between the two, as they were both tied to the right analog stick. There will either have to be a toggle on either the right analog stick or the left analog stick (like victorious boxers series) unless the blocking is just a shoulder button. I hope there are lots of control options and I hope they are intuitive enough for the user.
