Toney vs. Rahman

Anyone looking forward to this fight at all? Toney weighed in at 226, and looks to be in great shape for this fight. I have Toney in a late round TKO.

I am really, really looking forward to it because both fighters came in shape and they genuinely hate each other. The loser is (supposed) to retire.

Toney dropped Roach and has supposedly looking amazing in sparring.

But, Rahman has much more to lose and I had him winning the first fight.

So, I am going with a Rahman UD, but it is really a pick em fight.

Hard one to call. Rahman did not look exactly stellar his last time out. Toney looked spent the last time he stepped in the ring as well. Toney dropping weight is one thing but can he muster a pace in the ring that gives him an edge. Rahman is just big and strong but not a boxing specialist. This fight really has little meaning but I do applaud boxing for getting this to FREE tv. If you twist my arm, take my lunch money and MAKE me take a pick I say Rahman by SD. At 40 yrs old, I do not see Toney making much of a ruckus in the ring.

Yep. No one can say Toney isn't fun to watch. Rahman is 50% of the time.

Toney is one of my favs. He's just a throwback. They have some sparring footage up at maxboxing.com and he looked pretty good in there. I expect to see James pull this out, pretty decisively.

Can't get this fight on TV in Canada though .

The good news out of this is though that they are both light years ahead from challenging anyone inside the Top 20.

Agreed, I really thought Toney was gonna start to pick up the pace. It could have been a really good fight. I just hope they have a rematch for free.
