This should be an interesting fight.
Dawson struggled against Glen Johnson in some ways, but won the fight. Tarver isn't really impressing but he's still getting it done. I don't know how a fight like this will be scored. I have a feeling it could be a split decision for Dawson with Tarver bitching at the end about how he got robbed. Who knows though Tarver still can likely win rounds against Dawson with the jab.
With the Roy Jones Jr - Calzaghe fight a few weeks before this, these two fights could wind be being semifinals with the two winners matching up in a super fight. Perhaps a RJJ - Dawson match next year would be more likely than RJJ - Tarver 4. I don't know what kind of incentive Calzaghe would have to fight the winner of this fight if he gets past Roy. Either way, an interesting time for boxing with two intriguing Light Heavyweight Matchups in the early fall. -

I like Dawson. His mind has been on this fight for sometime and Tarver has been given way too much credit for beating Woods who gave up the moment he got on the plane to the States. Glencoffe was the perfect foil for Dawson to get his game right and make some adjustments.Comment
