Re: Fighting real boxers in career mode?
If it's contemporary fighters, I have no issues having them present in the career mode.
But I hated boxing games in the past where the #3 ranked fighter was Roberto Duran or George Foreman.
I'd rather keep the legends separate for exhibition or dream matchups.
Speaking of having real fighters in the career mode, I hope it's like Evander Holyfields boxing where they can age and move up and down the rankings as well. I want to see organic rankings where everyone else has scheduled fights, injuries, losses, wins, etc.
How cool would it be to climb the ladder, hoping to get a shot at a guy like Pacqiao or Calzaghe but some computer generated fighter, or current boxer beats you to it. I'd love to see upsets like that.
And I hope they have a random 'greatness' generator in the game too. Where maybe every 10 years a truly great fighter like Mayweather, Sweat Pea or a Prime Mike Tyson comes along to sweep their division. Imagine being the undefeated champ and suddenly a new gunfighter comes on the horizon. Maybe you duck them? Maybe you move up weight to avoid them? Or perhaps you face the inevitable and get knocked out by an up-and-coming legend - like Money99. -

I have no idea. But this is a mixed bag for me.

I hope it's a mixed bag too, because in real boxing you don't have champs, contenders, top 10's,journeymen, and nobodies. That's boxing reality.

I rather it being an option. I wouldn't mind fighting legend in career as long as they start with a 0-0-0 record like me.

I definitely want to see this. I also want the option to watch other matches.

I think Fight Night 2004 had this. I created some boxers who upset champs and they gave me a pretty good challenge.
