Vitali Klitschko vs. David Haye IS ON!!!!!!!!!!!

Vitali v. Haye most likely in June 09 in London.

It appears Vitali is going to force the WBC's hand and see if they will allow JC Gomez to fight the winner of Vitali v. Haye. If not, sounds like he will give up the belt.

Either way. Awesome fight....can't wait!

Haye has the biggest balls in world boxing, he doesnt **** around, he goes straight for the main man.

It seems to me Vitali is protecting little brother here because whilst im in no doubt Haye beats Wlad in spectacular fashion, Vitali is a different story, very 50/50, a pick em fight, but Haye has all the tools to do the job.

Should be a cracker.

I disagree with your last part totally.

I was initially disappointed that Wlad wasn't the one, but after sitting down and reading and such, Wlad had no choice. He has to fight in the states next which makes Haye not an option and Wlad and Haye are both young enough that a superfight with Vitali needed to be fastracked. Plus, Valuev and Chagaev are more likely to sign against Wlad than Vitali because Wlad has more belts.

Regardless, should be an awesome fight. Vitali may get old at any point which would help Haye greatly, it still should be awesome regardless of who wins.

Really happy they picked London.

If I had to predict now, I think this will be just like the Vitali-Hide fight.

Yess!! Can't wait for this. I really feel like Haye is going to win this fight. But it can easily go either way. I mean Vitali looked really good against Peter. and Haye has never fought anybody like him before.

I really like Haye, but he gets destroyed by either Klitscho.

I'm not really sure why this fight is happening 6 months from now. But I'm excited for it - that is, only if Vitali can stay healthy enough to make the fight happen.

Haye is an interesting prospect. Good power, good speed. I do not like his defense. Get's hit too much for me. Also, vs either Klit he is giving up a lot of weight. (easily 20lbs if not more) It will be interesting to see how he holds up in there. If you made me pick right this moment, I say KO by Klit in the later rounds.

Good analysis.

His power and speed could gain him many wins in the current heavyweight division.

However, saying that, like you said, his chin and defense are suspect.

Against Wlad, I see a late round KO as the younger Klitscho likes to protect his bad chin by sizing up his opponent and wearing them down before he takes any chances.

Against Vitali, I see the fight ending much sooner. Maybe a 3rd or 4th round stoppage. Vitali trusts his chin a lot more, and seems to possess better finishing instincts.
He'll use the first couple of rounds to figure out Haye and what he can and can't do against him. After that, bombs-away and only a matter of time before the Brit goes crashing hard.

Even if Haye does lose in this fashion, it shouldn't diminish his abilities as a heavyweight. I think he can still beat anyone in the division not named Klitscho.

Anything could happen...but based on history...Haye is toast. Sans Evander, Cruiserweights just aren't very good when they come up. Moorer could also be listed, but he was a LH who was draining himself and also was helped by being a southpaw.

But the second best cruiserweight of all-time (arguably) Juan Carlos Gomez has had struggles as well but also is a southpaw.

I am in the minority and think if Haye is going to be a Klit, Vitali is his best chance because of Vitali's age and lesser speed than Wlad. If I was Haye, I would watch the Morrison-Foreman fight and try to mimic that fight. But the only difference is Vitali has an awesome check left hook.

Vitali and Wlad have both called David Haye a younger Herbie Hide. And unfortunately, at this point, I agree with them. I think either Klitschko absolutely destroys Haye.

I don't think there is an American that is more respective of Euro fighters...and I try my best to be objective and call it like I see them...and Haye is AWESOME...but the Klits are far nastier than they get credit for.

Regardless, awesome fight. Can't wait.

One thing that is interesting is Lennox is on board to help Haye...but now it has been reported that he is actually going to spar to help him. That is a monster advantage for the Hayemaker...aka the Hayematrix...

Haye's defense is suspect, and nothing suggests he can handle either Klitscho, but he is a realist.
"If he hits me flush on the chin he will knock me out but I will take him out first. That is what the heavyweight boxing is all about."

His game plan appears to be shock and awe, more likely to work against Wlad, not Vitali, but it will interesting to see how he puts himself out there once in the ring.
