Totally agree. I just hope he doesn't get so mentally owned (see Michael Grant, David Tua, etc...) that his career tanks because Nips actually has talent. He could have a really good career.

May be a free lunch, but Wlad has to fight in the states so he is fighting the highest ranked, undefeated American contender in his home town. It will be a huge event at Staples.

Arreola is an awful boxer, and its a sad state for American heavyweight boxing when hes your big hope (no offence intended).

I disagree. I think he is a good boxer. He had a very strong amateur pedigree and it really comes out because his punches are short and powerful. Even when he got rocked by Walker, he didn't falter and still stuck to basic boxing mechanics.

Though I think he is out of shape, he will never be an adonis fighter. If bodies were everything, Ron Lyle would have dominated the 70's.

Close, but his chin got exposed 1.8% of his career.

His stamina got exposed 3.6% of the time.

Have to disagree on ArreoLOLa thel, all i see is a very average fighter without even any half decent names on his record who was badly rocked by a nobody like Travis Walker in the first couple of rounds in his last fight.

In any other era he wouldnt even be top 50, and as much as i dont rate Wlad, he'll make Arreola look like the amateur he is.

Just disagree. Many eras Arreola would be effective. He would easily blitz Pinklon Thomas, Marvis Frazier, and many of the random fighters of the 80's.

Exactly, random, not top level. Thomas though was a former World Champ who held his own with Tyson for 6 rounds before being decked.

Arreola has beaten nobody and achieved nothing to suggest he can even get anywhere near that level.

Tyson did little to deserve the Berbick shot. That is boxing. Up and comers who are undefeated get title shots. Many, many examples of this.

Agreed, but lets wait till Arreola has actually achieved something before comparing him to the Pinklon Thomas' of this world.
