    Re: Community Event Updates

Hey guys. Just got finished for the day.
We all had to sign iron-clad NDA's so don't bother asking us about anything about the game really. We've been told that we could begin giving details as early as a week from now. But don't quote me on that.

The Community event was a blast. Starting with a boxing session in the morning (which was brutal) we then moved on to lunch and the the studios to get a tour of the facilities (that place is INSANE) and then a presentation of FN Rd4, complete with Q&A and then finally with 3 hours of hands-on.

Speaking of the workout, as you can tell from the pictures and videos above, Sugar Shane Mosely and Sergio Mora showed up. They were both tremendous sports about the whole thing. They stood for every picture and Shane even engaged in some mock 'stare downs'. It was hilarious.
Then Mora got in the ring and actually sparred with some of the leaders and Brizzo (one of the producers). This guy is so fast it's insane. If he wanted to, he could have gone the entire 4 bouts without being touched once or breaking a sweat. But he encouraged everyone to hit him and even hammed it up for the camera in several instances.

During the presentation they both joined our group and took some more Q&A. Both were very friendly, forthright and engaging.
And to be honest, after hearing Mora speak so honestly and bluntly, I don't know how this man isn't on every boxing telecast in the business. He was freaking hilarious! He was so brutally honest about some things it was crazy - but also refreshing.
Afterward they again stood for photo's and signed everything that came their way.
I was already a fan of Mora (and Mosely obviously) but Mora just became one of my favorite fighters after seeing how personable and humble. The man really was down to earth and I heard him say 'Thank you' several times to members who showed an interest in him and his career. I really can't say enough about him or Sugar Shane. It was a tremendous treat to see them come out to support this game.

EA Tiberon was there to record the whole event and those guys were all nuts and very easy to hang out with. I can't say enough about them either.

And the produces of FN Round 4???? If anyone here, even attempts to say these guys don't care about this game or want it to succeed in the worst way, you're wasting your breath.
They LOVE boxing. I mean, absolutely love it!
During our play testing they hung out and asked questions the whole time. And they took everything we said to heart. You can tell that this game is their 'Opus' and they're very proud of it. And they SHOULD BE.

I can't say anything regarding details for this game but all I'll say is this.
This is the boxing game we've all been waiting for.

This game is going to be a big hit for both boxing diehards and casual fans alike. Trust me! This game is freakin' awesome!

And I absolutely cannot wait to talk about the career mode, presentation, graphics and especially gameplay and AI.

The community leaders should be hearing shortly when we're allowed to divulge what we've seen and experienced.

I hope to have a full write up of my experience, but I probably said it all in this post already. lol.
I really have to say 'thanks!' again to EA for setting this up. The developers were so freakin' cool in how they would sit and talk boxing, and specifically FN Rd4, with earnest. They want this game to be a killer. And I honestly believe they're sitting on a gem.

And to all the other community leaders, thanks so much for a great time. Everyone was very cool. It was awesome talking hockey and FN for nearly 48 hours straight.

Finally, a big props to our own Jacob Walker for strapping on the mitts and taking on The Latin Snake. He did very well and should be proud of himself. He tagged Mora with some very good shots. Good job buddy!

Well, I'm off to bed. It's been a long two days. And I have a long day of travel ahead of us.

One last thing, it sounds like all the leaders will be getting an early copy of the game. Possibly even 2 weeks early. So we'll be able to give out some good impressions by the middle of June (hopefully).

    Stay tuned!

I'm really sorry for being so vague regarding that Ali-Tyson fight. I got more details and in fact, there was a rematch between the two combatants last night.
I fear that if I reveal anything more I could violate the NDA so I should probably stop before I get myself into trouble. lol.
The reason why I can't say anything more is because if I revealed the outcome of either fight, and the reasons for them, I could potentially be giving away some gameplay mechanics. My apologies for that.

They didn't reveal the full roster and the build we saw didn't have all the fighters in it.
But from what we did hear about the roster, nobody's going to be disappointed with the amount of fighters they do have.

                Sounds great

Hope this game gives me a reason to step into the video game boxing ring again.

What a great, positive experience that must have been. Thanks for sharing. This really sheds a great light on FN4.

I forgot to mention that Shakyr from OS also got in the ring with Mora (the big dude with the pink gloves, lol). Poor Shakyr did NOT want to wear those but was urged by the developers. He was a great sport about it though.
He did great against Mora as well and at one point they had a good physical exchange against the ropes.

Man, I am dying to tell you guys more about this game.
I'm a big career guy and from what I learned I'm not going to be disappointed. And neither with anyone else if they're into offline gaming.

Thats what I like to hear. Hopefully they have a robust rankings system. And for the love of all things holy a named database so we don't have the Assassin fighting the Assassin every fight.

I will have a more detailed and organized write up of my experiences shortly. I just got home within in the last hour. But to echo Money's post, the game looks amazing. None of you guys will be disappointed in that area. I was thoroughly impressed with what I saw.

One thing I want to echo is that these producers of the game are REAL boxing fans, not guys wanting to make a 'rock'em sock'em' game. They truly understand the inner workings of a boxing match and tried to capture that in the game. Like Money said, we are limited in what we can share about the game so don't get upset if we can't answer some questions.

Why I had to jump from Vancouver to Phoenix, before going to Detroit is beyond me. Dumb airlines.
Lucky for them I'm an incredibly patient person.
