What would it take to make the Fight Night's fan based larger

I think Fight Night's fan base could be much bigger than it is. I wonder is EA scared to give us too much depth and customization, because they fear it might bored us. I beg to differ, EA needs to realize much of it's fan base is grown ups. Many of us are true boxing fans. We are serious about everything that evolves around boxing. We want a deeper experience to go with the game.I am a web surfer and I am on every site dealing with boxing and boxing gaming. I talk to many boxing gamers in their PM's(private messages),especially on the Title Bout Championship Boxing site. These guys are not fascinated console games, but they would be if it had depth and customization. EA would really get these guys attention if it has a manager and coach mode.

I want to know what do you guys think? Do you think EA should treat us more like boxing fans or more like gaming fans? What do you guys think will broaden Fight Night's fan base?

Good graphics, large well known fightger base, and fun button mashing mode.

That's what I was going to say.

I think having Tyson in the game, and on the cover is going to cross this game over to more than just the die-hard boxing fans.

And I think once casual fans, or even non-boxing fans, play the game they'll be hooked.
The game is just flat out gorgeous and a lot of fun to play.

Hopefully once the demographic of this series expands because of the above, EA will feel comfortable to give us a crap-load of options ala Madden.

I know guys that know next to nothing about football and yet they can enjoy Madden without getting into all the bells and whistles.
Meanwhile, the hardcore group still has a tonne of customization at their hands to keep them occupied for hours and hours.

        I think the two can co-exist side-by-side.

I think it becomes a dangerous question for the sim boxing fan. To expand the game you need to get out to the casual fan who only knows the top fighters. Then you would have to give back some of the sim style, because the casual fan wants to see knockouts, blood, and more knockouts. They don't care about a longer fighter using his reach, they don't care about jabbing your way inside, they don't care about working the body early to get to the head late. They want blood flying all over the place, vicious hooks and uppercuts. They have little use for the jab, or Sergio Mora. EA would need to have the WBC, IBF, belts ect, and have all the top title holders. The people that fans see on PPV ads. How many casual boxing fans in the 18-25 range care about Big George, Sugar Ray Robinson. They want PBF, Oscar, people like that. I think that we as sim guys would lose out if EA went after the casual fan. IMHO.

More current fighters and a worldwide approach. If you get the Kitchkos, the game will sell like crazy in Germany. Get Haye, Calzaghe and Hatton, the game will sell out in the UK. Tyson will bring a ton of US fans.

The producer "Brizzo" said he's not going to put real title because that money could go toward boxers. We should be able to edit titles, then we would be able to create the titles we want.

All I can say is that the Show is a sim sports game and it single handedly sells consoles. But you could also make it a softball game if you wanted.

I think what they really need to do is make a game with a default setting that has plenty of "arcade" elements and flashy knockdowns and KO's, but can easily be turned into a Sim with a few slidrs and on/off buttons.

As long as they can give us a good sim by customizing it, make it as flashy and arcadey as they have to on default as long as they don't lose sight of the core sim fans.
