Legacy Mode

Does anyone know when info on this mode should start getting released? I really hope that I'm not disappointed again with this mode. From early statements it sounds like the mode is going to be a raving success but have there been any hard facts about legacy mode released yet?

I'm thinking that we won't hear much about leagacy mode until the review copies go out. The little bit of Legacy mode Iplayed back in Feb. was VERY incomplete. But I saw some promising things and the devs were talking like it would be really meaty when finished. I don't think we'll get anything on the level of boxer's road, but it'll be robust and creative.

Doubleing up on what Darxide said, the Legacy Mode wasn't finished. But from talking to the developers they have big plans for it. There were still things they were working out for FN Rd4 but the direction they want to take this mode is fantastic.

I don't think anyone's going to be disappointed with this years Legacy Mode. And it sure sounds like this is a very important feature for them now and for future releases.

thanks for chiming in money. i just really hope this years career mode is excellent, i can care less at this point about future releases since that would be at least 3 years away. I mean thats an eternity. They've had more than enough time to make this years career mode top notch, so it worries me to hear that they have great plans for the career mode when this version hasn't even dropped and its not a yearly or even bi-annual game.

Yeah, I think I should have worded it differently.

The team isn't neglecting Legacy Mode this year in the least. But from what the developers told us all the stuff they want to do wouldn't be possible to put in one game if they worked on only Legacy Mode for 12 months.

And I'm not 100% positive about this, but I believe that the FN series is going to be an annual thing from now on.
The reason for the long layoff was the issues with the Chicago office, finding a new team, etc.

This game hasn't been under development for 3 years like a lot of us have assumed (myself included).
You'd be shocked with how little time they had from the start of Rd4 until now.

I can only say that the Legacy Mode in this game will be better than any other career mode you've ever experienced on a console boxing game.*

Yeah, I think I should have worded it differently.

In all honesty, I don't think there's a career mode in any sports platform that comes remotely close to the depth that VB2 has. It's almost too deep in some respects.

Only because I can't read Japanese...

If I had full understanding of the on screen menus and the dietary stuff, I think it would be fine. The boxing in that game though isn't as good as people make it out to be.

I just hope this career mode is solid with some strategy involved.

I stuck with VB2 and toiled through translation guides, and now, it's like I can actually read japanese.

The in-ring stuff in VB2 isn't that great mainly because it's a Hajime no Ippo game, so, it has the qualities of a boxing game based on a manga/anime. Boxer's Road 2 however, is different gameplay-wise. Much more realistic and slower paced. If you have a PSP, I highly suggest grabbing it and googling a translation guide.

I personally would like to see a VB2 esque career mode, but no way a game that simmy sells well in the U.S. You spend more time training and dieting your fighter than you do in the ring.

in the gametrailers preview i was able to catch a glimpse of the career mode mini games and they look awesome. real life ones like the punching bag, and the double end bag. looked sweet.
