SO what do we know about improvements to career mode, if any?

None of the previews have really revealed much on this I believe, unless I'm missing something. Since this game seems to be on a two-year development cycle, i would love to se some major effort put into improving this area of the game since we'll be playing it for the long haul.

Any links or information out there that I've missed, or has anything really come out about the features of career mode?

Actually, the development cycle was around 6 months. Dev on Round 4 started in December 08.

        I don't believe that either...

But I guess I should clarify and say "release date cycle." Actually I just checked up on when FNR3 was released and it was actually over 3 years ago 2/20/2006. That's crazy. I didn't realize it was that long ago.

Anyway, back to the topic, what's the deal with career mode in this game? Unless i'm missing some, they seem t obe awfully quiet about this aspect.

Beyond that the game looks tight as hell, and I'm look forward to getting it...

I thought it's been 18 months or so?

Regarding the OP, we should be hearing some stuff about the Legacy Mode fairly soon.
It's a GREAT improvement over FNRd3. I think people will be very happy with what's been done.

Maybe two years ago, I asked Brizzo about a FN4 realease for 07/08- he told me then that since boxing isn't season like other sports, EA doesn't keep a release cycle for the Fight Night series.

As for career mode, I personally only spent maybe half an hour messing around in it. I can't speak on it, but I'll say that the amateur portion was superior to what we got in Round 3. The way you begin your career was pretty cool I thought. I started a career with Tyson since the CAB was unfinished.

Hmmm... I thought he said 08... I could be wrong, but consider this- the build we played was a week past alpha- that would mean that in 14 months, dev was only barely past alpha with a 50% complete roster.

Maybe Brizzo will see this and clarify.

Yeah, I'd be interested if he could clear this up.

But people need to realize that this game hasn't been in development for 3 years like some thought.
FNRd4's had a relatively short cycle.

Unfortunately we are still bound by the NDA regarding Legacy Mode.

But I believe that lid will be lifted soon enough.

Suffice it to say, it'll be far more engrossing than FNRd 3's.

Yeah, I clarified that it is really a "release cycle" that's been 3 years. I just really hope that they dedicated some time to improving the career mode, as FNR3 was severely lacking...

Ok, now that I think about it, I recall seeing a mo-cap video back in September 08. So it probably was in pre-development since Dec. 07.

                            Cool!

I can't wait to hear the news. So how much of it did you get to see? Was it complete? the other guy (Darxide) said that he played an alpha build of the game. How along ago was that? Were you at the same event?

No worries. The producers were well aware of FNRd3's shortcomings and made several adjustments to correct this.

Offline gamers should have lots to keep them busy.
