I beg to differ. I boxed for a while and I can tell you, the faster the punch, the harder (usually), though there are cases where slower guys like Foreman hit harder b/c of their size. And if you watch tape of Tyson, Roy Jones, Leonard, etc. The biggest/hardest hits are shots that look like blurs. That's realism. So, I do understand that it shouldn't be abused but at the same time it's not realistic. The solution to stop abuse of it would be to make haymakers take more stamina from fighters and if you load up and swing and miss too many of them, you become fatigued and easier to hit (which happens in real life). Just my $0.02.

Re: Fight Night Round 4 Demo Impressions
I cant lie, I'm lovin the demo so far. Some folks are trying to compare FN with UFC, I guess that is understandable. With that being stated, I tried to do the same thing. Play FN demo, then play UFC demo back and forth to see which one would hold my attention the longest.
After doing that, honestly I cant distinguish a clear winner. I didn't want to go back specifically to one or the other, both games are great in their own right. I have both preordered.
I pretty much have nothing but pros for each game. The cons I've recognized are these observations: UFC-dont like the fact that you cant move your torso/sway. FN4-dont like the fact that the torso/sway doesnt seem to work fluidly, there were only a couple of times I could effectively use the lean and dodge a punch. I had to use block to stop from being hit. The lean worked EVERY once in awhile.Comment

Re: Fight Night Round 4 Demo Impressions
A little more detail on the lean feature in FN4. It seemed like the punches are magnetized to my boxers face, lol. Thats for leaning to the left and right. Leaning back seemed a little more effective, other than that I had to use block or the new, dodge and step forward "move". That inside fighter "move".Comment

Re: Fight Night Round 4 Demo Impressions
I just recently played through FN3 again and had a blast. This demo is FN3, but better and without the annoying between rounds healing game. If the roster included a few older fighters (Dempsey, Tunney, Joe Louis, Baer, Liston, Marciano, etc.), I'd be in heaven. I would actually prefer a game of all legends, but that's besides the point.
Anybody who's complaining about the game has the right to, but I'm glad I am having fun with the demo (however easy it is) and look forward to this game as much, if not more, than UFC.The line must be drawn HERE! This far, no further!Comment

Re: Fight Night Round 4 Demo Impressions
Loving the demo still.
- Starting to effectively KO my opponent and seeing the punches coming and reacting.
- I wish body shots would wear stamina down more. Reward folks that don't just head huntFollow me on Twitter - http://twitter.com/complex219Comment

Re: Fight Night Round 4 Demo Impressions
To be honest I was a little disappointed at first with the demo. It seemed like I couldn't get the hang of the TPC. I could only throw right uppercuts and felt my haymakers would never connect. Now, I can lean better and block just a little bit betterbut its getting better. Once I am able to play 10 or 12 rounds this game will be a lot better. With the 3 rounds I just find myself throw endless amounts of punches. Can't wait till July, but UFC should hold me till then.
Hope I can get some matches online with some of you guys or gals.Work Hard...Pay Bills...Work Hard...Pay BillsComment

Re: Fight Night Round 4 Demo Impressions
No you have to play a balancing game with the left stick where once you have the meter centered on the screen you have to push the right stick at the precise moment the light is right in the middle. I've let the CPU knock me down a few times to see how it plays out when you have good health early on as opposed to the 2nd or 3rd KD where you're close to death. It seems that the less health you have when you go down the harder it is to balance and get up, at least that's what I sensed. That's good because if it was the same difficulty everytime to get up you may never knock anybody out online who are really good at it. So I'm hoping that it works out well in the full game so if it's the 10th round and you're just pummeling the guy and knock him down it's gonna take alot of skill for him to get back up.
I know alot of early reveiwers said that they find it difficult to balance it but from an early KD I have had no problem getting up.Comment

Re: Fight Night Round 4 Demo Impressions
It took mine about 3 days to hit my email. Keep in mind, that was before the demo was active. Now that its out here, you'll probably get it right away. Aint no tellin.Comment

Re: Fight Night Round 4 Demo Impressions
I like it to, but how exactly do you play it? The AI is no challenge, so I practice bombing the CPU with haymakers, work on by uppercuts and hooks, and soon I will be going for as many counters as i can. Playing my brother was a drag because all he can do is stickmash with PacMan.
I keep the pace slow though. Stickin and movin, not taking advantage of any game exploits that make it into the game. For example, if I were to mistakenly find a glitch that allowed me to get off the same right hook for a knockout in a certain situation, I make it a point to never use that hook in that particular situation.
I was surprised yesterday when manny started mimicking me (no lie), jabbing backin up, etc, it was nice.
My movement around the ring is slow and methodical also, unless I'm in a crucial situation. I usually take one or two steps angling around my opponent trying to cut the ring off. I dont like to hold the stick and move fast (unless I'm getting thrashed and have to back up, lol).
That pretty much sums up how I play sports titles. Folks on here talk about sim, lol. I dont think you all really know about playin sim style baby, lol.Comment
