    Demo issues addressed before release

    From the EA discussion board.....

Welcome to EA Forums, where you can chat about games with other players, help each other out, share feedback, and report issues you’re having with EA games.

    Update: 05-15-2009

Couple of quick things that I can speak about right away. First, for those interested timelines, the demo was locked down about 7 weeks ago in early, early April. As you might imagine, the final weeks of development is when a lot of the fine tuning and polishing gets completed. For example, off the top off my head:

    1. Stamina. Stamina loss is a little higher and stamina regeneration is a little slower.

    2. Punch connections. Landed punch collisions are cleaner and hit reactions have more intensity.

    3. Cuts and Swelling. The onset is very fast in the demo. In the final version, depending on your susceptibility to damage you find that you might have several fights without incurring any significant damage - but then when it does happen, it really affects the way your fight plays out between rounds.

    4. Punch Animations. Tweaks on many punches occurred after the demo was out the door to address performance/technique issues.

    5. Gameplay Audio. The mix in the demo is not great and we know that. Lots of audio work was done in the final 6-7 weeks and it sounds much better.

    6. Counter Punch Window. The counter window is roughly the same length, maybe a little shorter in the final version. But we tuned how often you can open it up. They don't happen as often overall.

    7. AI Difficulty & Exploits. The final weeks were spent heavily invested in finding AI exploits like the hook spamming, body punch spamming, haymaker spamming, etc. It's tightened up quite a bit. Difficulty on the demo is pretty low, but we did that on purpose so people wouldn't get annihilated their first few fights.

    8. Foot Speed & Locomotion. Little bit faster overall, but also behaves much better changing directions and maintaining distance to opponent when moving laterally.

    9. HUD & Settings. There is an option to turn off HUD in final game. Options to change camera too. Gameplay sliders to adjust power, damage, speed and CPU behaviors.

    10. Miscellaneous Hatton has his new tattoos. Shane Mosley's name is spelled correctly. As mentioned previously, several of the boxers overall ratings have been updated/balanced.

Hope that helps. More info to come when its available.

            Just say no to buttons.

If they let buttons in theonline World Championship mode, that will be a game killer.

            NO BUTTONS!
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

It's not on the list. The joke is on us. I believed it too until I went to the thread myself.

Somebody playin with my emotions...it says nothing about buttons in the original thread...who added that in there?

As far as dude talking about buttons ruining online..no it wont..if they make it so only button players can play other button players..it will be great. Either way..it will be great to me...just make the slider over to buttons..tpc aint so great to where i cant use buttons....the same way yall say we should just suck it up and learn tcp..yall can do the same if buttons can be used..suck it up and use buttons! Dont be a hypocrite. Fixing the stamina would solve the issue of throwing wild punches etc.

That list is like the wishlist I wanted for what I didn't like in the demo. Changing camera angles, better foot speed and lateral quickness and a slider for the speed of the game is what I really wanted the most. This should really help with lowering punch counts to a realistic level.

M.I.M.L is BOGUS ... #11 ... LMAO ... I was like YEAH!!!! ... went back and read the original post and the EASPORTS post and my heart broke ... Funny but NOT funny. They should just make Online matches TPC ONLY and let us button pushers push our buttons offline ... that would help all you TPC players anyway since yall need the most help (I say this because I never lost an offline match to anyone not using Config 3 ... So now bums have a chance ... a SLIGHT chance but a chance none the least) I'm still going for the belt ... K.O.ing fools on my way to the top ...(PSN: Masta_Buttons)
Yes I HATE TPC but besides that the game (DEMO) is Great.

                        Always Pushin ...
Buttons ... Just Not in FNR4
                        Always Pushin ....

All I would need now is for them to get Mayweather in the game. I know people can create him, but I would rather EA do it themself

                              9. HUD & Settings. There is an option to turn off HUD in final game. Options to change camera too. Gameplay sliders to adjust power, damage, speed and CPU behaviors.

No slider for stamina? Obviously both damage and power factor heavily into the depletion of the yellow bar when landing body punches, but will not address a decrease based on punches thrown.
