FN4 developer Q&A @ IGN
The Fight Night 4 developers are doing a Q&A session on IGN. The deadline to submit questions is Wednesday, June 10 at 9 AM. The answers will be part of an upcoming FN4 blog.
So far it's mostly immature gamers whining about no button-only control scheme. Hopefully you guys can submit some more intelligent, relevant questions.

Re: FN4 developer Q&A @ IGN
Classy. Are you always this derogatory about people whose opinion differs from yours? -
Re: FN4 developer Q&A @ IGN
Lol but he's right...
When you make a thread or whatever asking people to ask questions about a game, 10 "why are there no buttons?" questions are pretty redundant....Last edited by Jukeman; 06-08-2009, 11:10 PM.Comment

Re: FN4 developer Q&A @ IGN
Serves them right for going out of their way to take away options from the user, instead of using their heads & fixing stamina so you can't throw six hooks in a row without nearly falling over.Comment

Re: FN4 developer Q&A @ IGN
Options r good but
they did add a slider for stamina.....(no console game is going full sim out the box)
Nobody but the internet community are complaining about the lack of button control....I know ALOT of people who played the demo and didnt care about the option to use buttons, they just played and enjoyed it even tho they didnt kno how to punch lol, some casual guys will learn the scheme but trust they not gonna skip it becuz of the control...they going to buy it becuz its fignt night round four...heck, I remeber playing FNR2 at my uncle's house(we had a big tourny, all casual guys) and we were playing with the sticks untill I got on controll and change the scheme, they didnt even know that you could switch it to buttons lol...Ironically those "casual" gamers called a "simhead" like me a cheater for doing so haha!...People take wats giving to them these days...kinda how people eat at fast food places but know its not good for them...they dont care!!!!Last edited by Jukeman; 06-09-2009, 12:25 AM.Comment

Re: FN4 developer Q&A @ IGN
Did you read the posts on IGN.com? I hope you did before you accused me of being derogatory.
EA is trying to open a dialogue with gamers. Instead of asking questions many IGN users simply complained about the lack of button controls.
Here are some of the comments that people posted on IGN. Please let me know if you think they are a) immature or b) whining
- "the new mechanics are ********"
- "New controls are GARBAGE"
- "The demo is a disgrace, the graphics are cartoony"
- "Signature punch is pathetic"
- "The “revamped” controls are GARBAGE. The new control system is horrible on so many levels."
I think all of these statements are immature and whining. Instead of asking valid questions, many IGN users complained.
I don't care if someone's opinion differs from mine. (I would actually prefer that button controls are available just because more options = better game). I just think treating the EA developers like human beings is the best way to encourage more communication between EA and us. If you want the button controls added to the game, ask EA to bring it back. Don't say "the new controls suck. Fix it or die."
For example, this guy ASKED about button controls instead of immaturely whining about the control scheme:
"Being that many a fan has expressed a distinct dislike from the removal of the button configurations within FNR4 are you going to concede into that large portion of your customers/fan base and give them the option of button configuration? (which I for one am hoping for)"
There is a lot better chance of someone responding to his question than the other complaints.Last edited by boritter; 06-09-2009, 12:31 AM.EA: Please add in-game saves.Comment

Re: FN4 developer Q&A @ IGN
Don't quite know how to interpret that, other than this is your knocking of the default fatigue settings for the three round demo. Keep in mind the developers said the retail game will have the fighters tire more and regenerate energy (between rounds) less. Add to that the fact that it is only a three rounder you are working with and long term or even mid term fatigue cannot be properly gauged. Also as I and another poster noted in two player games (although my opponent was terrible) a combination of missed/too many punches and taken body shots resulted in knockouts attributable to an empty yellow bar. In my fights the KO happened in the second round. Both times Hatton slumped forward on bent knee as if he just felt the effects of a Mickey (a drug laced drink).
And finally you will have tremendous flexibility with the fatigue slider and other "slider cousins" of fatigue such as damage and power.Comment
