To Sim Training or Not Sim Training?

So I got this last night and I've had some trouble with the training, specifically the heavy bag combo due to the fact that the R-stick is not as precise as one would like. So the question is, should I just sim the training exercises that give me trouble and take the +3's, or should I keep practicing and go for the +6's? Will the +3's haunt me down the road is the real question I guess.

I think that you should go for it. It's getting the +1's that will hurt. The +3's aren't bad but I am just using it as a practice to get better at it. I too have been frustrated by some of the drills. It's fun, but it will take a little getting used to.

Is there a training mode where you can practice the drills?

So the training sessions that give me the hardest time are the heavy bag combo, the heavy bag push, and the maize thing where you dodge and then punch on the last dodge. I know the combo one is just about me getting my stick skills better, but does anyone have any tips on the other two? I can only get the bag pushed over two lines, and I can never hit my last punch on the maize thing.

Yeah they've been giving me some grief too. I do like them, and am willing to give thme a go, but during the career, if your not hitting the targets you kind of start to panic a wee bit in the worry you're boxer will be crap as he moves up the ranking.

Also, is it possible to train more than once in between fights? Because after my second fight in career, i tried giving myself three weeks until my next fight, including the rest time, but i was still only able to get in one training session.

You can add more time by moving the fight up to the next month ... use the shoulder buttons to do that. After a certain amount of time (2 months, i think), you get an extra training session. If you move the fight to 3 or 4 months out, you get 3 training sessions.

The maize thing is actually pretty easy once you get the hang of it because the bag swings to the same side every time it travels in the same direction. Once you figure out which way to lean to avoid the bag on the first swing, it's literally just a matter of alternating sides when the bag swings back the other way (lean one way, then lean the other, then lean the other, etc.). Then, after the last swing in the numbered sequence, just stay in your crouch and snap off an easy jab or a straight.

It's probably the easiest training game, save perhaps for the sparring. I'm hit and miss on the heavy bag push, but like you, I'm having a really tough time with the heavy bag combo. I'm just not as precise with the R-stick as I need to be to hit all the combos.
