    Training Tips Needed Please

Seriously....I was a FN3 beast. FN4 has taken some getting used to, but so far I like it a lot.

But the training things are kicking my arse.....I'm getting like +1 every single time , no matter which training thing select.

Currently, I'm just auto siming them cause I'm getting more points that way. I'm 36, and yeah, I know my stick skills are not quite as fast as they once were but damn.....

    Anyone else having trouble too?

yea they are pretty hard. The heavy combo is not bad I just usually miss a body jab or something and it ruins my streak. The heavy push bag was alright I found that a power punch or two and then jab/crosses so the bag doesn't go backwards.

The maize one is just out of control hard. I managed to miss 4 times but could not deal with a punch before I got hit in the dome by it. It so different in timing from the actual game it seems.
These were with Tyson also. I guess i might sim for now as well. LOL

I need weightlifting that was so stupid yet fun haha!

For my boxer, the most pleasable training session is the "Push Bag" drill. It is the hardest for me, but I figured it out. Because the TPC stick is so responsive, it is best to take your time punching the bag on that drill because if you hit the stick multiple times and the designated area changes, the bag will knock you off balance and you lose progress (and points). So I am getting better by punching slower plus moving the left stick (and my boxer) towards the bag...

Training is the most frustrating part of the game for me. TPC throws me off, because I will throw a hook to the body without pushing L1. That mistake will stop a streak or make the bag sway. I am still trying to figure it out, and in no way an expert, but I am slowly make more progress.

The training sessions will get easier as your boxers skills increase (due to training, i know). But now that my boxer is ranked in the Teens, the two sparring training is a lot harder as your sparring partners are a lot tougher. Open Sparring and Stay On Your Feet are self explanatory. So, here's what I have been doing for the other training sessions:

        Heavy bag push:
Like Big Mig said...slow down. Do not over punch and queue up the punches. You must hit the designated zone in order to push the bag and any stray punch will make it sway in the wrong directions. Try using the L1/LB to duck and hook when the target is low, and use jabs and crosses when the target is high. It's frustrating because the target sometimes changes in a blink of an eye.

The best I can muster so far is Contender.

        Heavy bag combo:
Again, slow down. Once I get into the higher 4 to 5 hit combos I usually let the stick go back to the neutral position before throwing a punch. You won't lose your combo by taking your time. So making sure you hit the right combo is better than throwing the wrong punch.

I got champion rank a couple of times.

        Double End Bag:
Don't over punch. Throw around 2 to 3 hooks or uppercuts at the most and get ready to move to the new target. Use the L1/LB hooks as they are easier to throw. If you are in danger of not getting to the target, get as close to it as you can and throw any punch possible. This training gets a lot easier once your foot speed increases.

I have managed to get Champion on this one.

        Maize Bag:
I auto-train. I stink at it... and usually because the trainer wants to give me slip 8 or 10 times before I can punch. This wastes time on the clock. Anybody have suggestions?

        Best rank: Bum

If you find any tricks let me know. I think auto-training early in your career for some of the harder training sessions is not a bad idea. At least you get half. Or you can always turn off auto-save, and retry every time. But that becomes a pain.

For the maize training, you don't have to wait until the bag goes back to do it once. When the bag goes back, you can just move your head about 4-6 times and that still counts. So you don't have to wait. Maize is actually pretty easy. So when you think you can only move your head one way, move it a bunch of times and watch what happens. Sorry I can't explain it any better.

this, plus keep in mind that you don't have to go back to the center to punch, you can do the last head movement, hold it on that side, do a quick jab and it'll start the next round. if you can pull off 2 head moves during each pass of the bag you can get contender level scores pretty easily

That's exactly the formula I use ... 2 head moves per swing of the bag, then make sure you lean and throw a jab. You can get a Champion rating using that, and it's not terribly hard; you just have to stay focused the whole time. The hardest part for me is those times when it's just a 1 or 2 count before a punch, and I keep dodging the bag.

The heavy bag combo is the roughest for me. For some reason I have bad accuracy when it comes to a right hook to the body. I always end up with a uppercut to the body..

I pretty much skip out of the legacy and train all the exercises in the main menu , before I go into legacy and start training for a fight. It forces me to get assimilated to the training modes. I hate the auto simming, feel like I missing part of the game when I do that.
