Well, cheese tactics are changing...haymakers again.

I blocked haymakers to NO effect. I was hurt BLOCKing them. Stupid. You can't dodge a haymaker to the gut, only block and THAT hurts. Patch this, there is no way to defend this.

Lol... no defense to this? Um... you can punch the guy as he's winding up and it breaks the animation of the haymaker. It's quite easy to stop this and I do it all the time.

I love how people are quick to ask for a patch because they can't beat some people.

Ok, i can stick him with a jab or cross when its a haymaker to the head, but on the haymaker to the gut even if you block it it causes damage, which is stupid. I would hit them on the haymaker to the gut, but they are out of reach. This really sucks that even though my opponent threw 260 haymakers over seven rounds Tyson was hardly tired. I timed his haymakers perfectly and the best I could do is block them. If I tried to counter his haymakers, even with a jab, he had time to recover. If I have more time to counter a hook and even more time to counter an uppercut, I should have enough time to call my mom, make a sandwich, and then hit them with at least a jab on the counter. As Tyson would say, this is ludicrous. On the robo punching to the gut I timed it and caught him several times with counters and he quit throwing a lot of stomach punches and switched to haymakers. I couldn't counter the gut haymakers, I could only block them and watch my stamina and blocking strength dwindle down.

I won't beat everybody, I admit that. I am probably a B minus to a B online. But indefensible tactics should be patched. If you can't counter a haymaker at all or hit them while they are throwing it it is cheese. The haymaker low is started while you are out of reach and you can't get to them or get away from them. I will continue trying, but this is getting old quick. I got KO'd because I kept blocking gut shots.

I just noticed break block doesn't replenish unless you release the block stick. I understand your strategy now. I may have a shot after all.

just keep practicing. wont be a issue after some more matches. also any puch can get through a block. doesnt have to be a haymaker. you will get it down. also have you ever been punched in the arms while blocking a body punch? hurts like a sonofabitch.

I can imagine that hurts. I will just have to quit fighting inside, though that's what I like. I will get an Ali type with higher foot speed and keep them at arms length.

if you get inside you better be damn good at counters. i always lose when i use tyson but when i have lewis im untouchable. wait a few rounds in before you take the fight inside.

Ok, I will go with a different strategy. I'll go with a taller faster fighter.

I had a guy throw 300 in 5 rounds. So boring. He ended up quiting becuase I would jab him in face before he could wound up. Didnt happen all the time but, that's what you can do. I personally think haymakers should take ALL your energy or close to it when throwing more than 3 in a round.

I partially agree, make that missed heymaykers. because if you land 1 you hurt your opponent and if a boxer feels his opponent is hurt and smells blood he gets an adrenaline rush and moves in for the kill. also the munch being stopped shorter allows for not all of the energy to be used. where as if you whiff, there is nothing absorbing the energy and should take more out of you.

Haymakers to the body are still unavoidable and unblockable. Even if I block it it still causes damage. After combating enough cheese to feed Willards army of rats and beating three or four (thanks to you guys) I felt ok with the championship mode. Well, I am 2-3 with one KO and a guy that DNF'd because I countered his cheese in round 2. My three losses are all to guys that threw gut haymakers constantly and never tired from it. There is no penalty to throwing a lot of haymakers and especially no penalty to missing. Against head haymakers my opponents walk into jabs and can't finish the punch.

I just fought a guy online who had a quick CAB that tried cheesing. What you guys suggested, picking his punches apart with timed blocks, worked. However, he changed tactics and started throwing a lot of haymakers for the rest of the fight. I couldn't defend the gut haymakers. I landed 34 counters against this guy and he didn't sniff the canvas once. My last opponent threw 108 haymakers, missing 63. He should have been tired from throwing haymakers or KO'd from me landing 34 of 40 counters. I love this game, but online is like a dropping a hot girl's in a manure truck. I wonder if it's worth wading through a pile of mess to get what I really want.

Sorry about the rant but how do you deal with gut haymakers?
