    Tips for rookies

I'm new to the series and need some tips.

First, how many punches does the average boxer throw in 10 rounds? I know it varies but just a rough estimate is good.

I can't seem to score many or any knockdowns, at least until the 10th round...how do they come? When opponents health is low? Stamina low also? Do they come because of lots of counters landed?

How many haymakers should I throw during a round or fight?

I have a lot of trouble blocking haymakers to the body...how do you do this? Block low and lean to the side they are throwing to?

Also, please just put your best tips here. Thanks guys.

When it comes to damage to the face...should I keep pounding a cut or bloody nose? I assume so but does it make health go down faster and knockdowns more likely?

Absolutely. If he's hurt, it's going to affect his ability to take additional damage, and it's going to affect his offense as well.

If he's cut or swollen and won't cover it up, keep hitting him until he does.

        This would be my suggestion.

Pertaining to focusing on cuts, etc. That would stop a fight only, but haven't seen a bout stopped yet. Some people have, though.

Haymakers, don't throw so many you drain your stanima. A problem in Fight Night Round 4, is the CPU's stanima doesn't delplete that fastly.

Knocking people down when stunned. Be careful, try and counter. Be ready to push the opponent away, because they always try and clinch.

Blocking haymakers, Just be prepared to block at all times. Sometimes you block and they still get through.

Just play and play, lean and learn to counter and you should be good.

ok thanks for the tips...quick question Legacy.

I scheduled my first fight and I can only do one training session? Why does it matter how far in advance I schedule if it only gives me 10 days of green to train and then I only get to actually train on one of those days anyway? Does this change eventually?

I find working a cut works really well because your opponent will have to use his points on fixing his cuts, as opposed to stamina, or health.
