Little things that would make this game more realistic

Don't get me wrong, I love this game, and its far superior to Fight Night 3. However, there are little things that bug me as a boxing fan...


Fight Stoppages
-When a fight is stopped due to injury, they go to the score cards. In this game, the injured fighter always loses.

-Fights don't get stopped when a fighter is unable to defend themselves...they should.

Clinching
-On FN4, fighters only clinch when they are stunned. They need to clinch when they get tired, or maybe a random clinch to break up the rhythm.

Knock Outs
-I have yet to see a KO off of one knockdown unless its in the late rounds.

Punches having no impact
-I hate the fact that you can trade blows and that the punches all land. Certain punches should cause you to back up, especially if they are combos. Accumulation of punches should deplete more energy with each consecutive punch.

Fix these things and the realism improves dramatically!

I have had 2 ko's from one punch. once in the 1st. and once in the 3rd.

I have had the computer counter me when trading and back me up with a hook..

What difficulty were you playing on?

As for the counters, yes the computer will counter you, but I'm referring to online opponents. I'm always the one who counters them because these fools don't know anything about boxing.

Its a problem when Ali can trade with Foreman because either A) Ali should beat Foreman to the punch everytime, or Foreman should simply overpower Ali.

Actually, the CPU does clinch even when they're not stunned. When an outside fighter gets too close for comfort, he'll clinch. Like when he knows he's left himself open for the counter he will clinch before I can wail on him. It doesn't happen often but at least I know it's there.

I've had a few 1-KD KOs. They were against some real bums.

I will definitely agree on the majority of flush power punches not having the impact that they should.

Since I placed toughness at 0, I see punches backing the fighter back(Ill hit him and he will fly back)

You know what I would love to see? Incidental headbutts. Two guys accidently bob and weave into each other. Ref temporarily stops the fight to check each fighter. The whole deal.

Would be awesome.

wish counters weren't so effective

and i agree combos should stop you

instead the CPU is able to slip the last punch of a 7 punch combo and counter you with a hook that stuns you all the time

Agreed with all of the above, especially more one-knockdown KOs.

-more training in legacy mode
-scouting reports for your opponent, not just their ratings

YES, scouting reports. Even just the style of fighter will do. I want to know if I should train for a brawler or a boxer, inside or outside, etc.
