Move up in weight class in legacy mode

How do you do do it?

I just restarted my legacy mode, this time as a Middleweight, how can I move up to a Heavyweight?

You will get an email from your trainers after you win a championship match...If you don't get it right away just keep defending your belt. You go up one weight class, so from middleweight you can only move into Light Heavyweight.

Then can jump from Light Heavyweight to Heavyweight?

I've played a handful of championship bouts in the higher class in my legacy (from Middle to Light Heavy), and it seems that you don't go any higher. I would say no unless someone finds out otherwise?

Not exactly on-topic but it's related...

Have any of you guys experienced the game hanging when trying to move up a weight class? I just tried doing this twice now (on PS3) and every time I confirm that I want to move up in weight, the game just freezes. The music still plays and I can access the XMB but I can't get past the confirmation screen.

Any ideas?

On the topic, if I can recall correctly, you can move up to 2 weight classes higher than your starting weight class.
