Unusual stoppage - at the start of a round

I fought Diego Corrales in Legacy Mode. I worked his eye pretty good and when it started to bleed I kept at it. Well at the end of the 6th round, it showed our points we had earned and such. His damage meter was past the red dashed part of the meter. I thought nothing of it and started the next round. Well one I started it the ref jumped in and ended the fight.

    Anyone else seen this before?

Yea, if you do enough damage for it to reach that danger zone, the ref may or may not stop the fight. Depends on the refs awareness.

    But certainly not unusual...

I've seen this also. For some reason the refs don't stop the fights in the middle of rounds. They only stop the fight in the begining of the next round. Really dumb.

simply not true. I have seen it stopped in the middle of a round.

Maybe the ref looked at him when he answered the bell for the next round and realized enough was enough...

I've never seen one of those. I guess I have to keep on playing. Good stuff. I like hearing about the little things that I haven't seen yet.
