    Help With Defense

I need some tips on protecting the body. I can protect my head fine but they connect about 80% to the body. I hold the block down and try to avoid it but they connect right through it. Do I have time hitting the block better?

....and how do I bob and weave consistently with the left stick?

I can't seem to get it to respond.

On the bobbing/weaving, pay attention to the punch thrown. I don't have it down pat yet, but I know each punch has a particular angle you react to.

As far as blocking, choose your weakest area and protect that area when you come in on the other fighter. When the CPU reacts and punches towards it you can block it or counter. Remember to get out and release the block stick occasionally or you can't replenish you block strength. Here is a vid of my meager defensive skills. I am not very good, but it gets the job done. The main thing is to remember to back away once you can see your block getting weak. I play without the HUD on, so I really have to pay attention. I guard my face and react to the body punches because it's easier in the long run to replenish stamina than constantly take care of cuts and swelling.
