    Compubox Versus Robo Punchers

The CompuBox stats are average numbers for welterweights/junior middleweights. The Robo Puncher stats are for a highly rated gamer (HOTBOIH) using middleweight Sugar Ray Robinson against my Carlos Monzon.

    Average Welterweight/Middleweight per round:
    19 punches landed, 57 punches thrown, 34%
24 jabs thrown, 33 power punches thrown for a total of 57 thrown.
25% of jabs land, 40% of power punches land

    Robo Sugar Ray per round:
    75 punches landed, 122 thrown, 61%
29 jabs thrown, 93 power punches thrown for a total of 122.
58% of jabs landed (169-288), 62% of power punches landed (576-932)

He beat me by decision winning 8 of 10 rounds.

And that's the reason why I don't play online. Did you happen to see his Stamina?

Down, but better than my own. I landed 68% to his 61%. I've been a "middling" defender of stamina in the game, and probably could have gave the guy a better fight if I hadn't of got "body trapped" in the early rounds. The other problem I've mentioned before is the blocking. It needs to degrade at half the rate it currently does.

This just in: The Beatles broke up!

Guys - we know this. This horse is dead. It's been beaten. They're patching it. Let's move on, seriously.

Really, I've heard very little about the blocking problem and I think this is the first time actual CompuBox numbers have been presented. Let's move away from the flip comments, seriously.

What a joke. Such a contradiction. Flip-flopping. How ironic. Stamina is a factor. Remember that. Blocking is fine, the stamina is not a realistic factor for a simulation game. I thought blocking was the preferred solution to lack of stamina.

              Re: Compubox Versus Robo Punchers

The worst are the guys who throw 120 punches per round, 100 of them hooks to the body. The other 20 are haymakers. Some of them are just tough to beat because they don't get tired fast enough over the course of the fight and punching them in the head doesn't slow down their body blows. Very frustrating

Couldn't you just repeatedly bash them in the head (not protected while they are throwing body shots) with hooks? Wouldn't that dramatically reduce their health and eventually knock them down? Or am I missing something???

^U got to punch them in the body also. Once their stamina meter is lowered. That when u punish them. I'm not talking waiting. But during the round. If u allow them to win rounds, their stamina will never go down b/c they can use earned points.

Yeah, not only reduce their health, but subject them to cuts at the very least. I've never really tried that technique, but some body spammers aren't one trick ponies, so it might not work in all cases.

yes but I can't throw those hooks to the head fast enough to keep up with them plus it turns the game into no fun at all. They are too fast with uppercuts to the body to be able to go punch for punch with them eventually they'll just knock you down.

No point in that, and the patch has not been explained yet. All we know for sure is the game will have new downloadable sliders for offline play.

JayBee...I think it's a stamina issue mainly because if a guy threw punches like that you could knock him out by the 2nd round. It's just not realistic. I would also say that blocking needs to be more than clinching yourself. It'd be nice to see some type of parry animation mixed in this new physics engine.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

True. The stamina issue might be fixable sliders or it might not, we have yet to see. For example, it might be the case that lowering the stamina rating doesn't incentivize relaxed pace if it would proportionately increase stamina from taking body shots, thus keeping the balance between throwing and taking on the throwing side.

JayBee74, do you play 10, 2 min rounds? Are 12, 3 min rounds too long in peoples opinion does the cpu fighter better in 2 min vs 3?
