I'm Putting Together My Own CPUvsCPU Tournament/Leauge; Looking for Suggestions.

So I've spent the majority of the last two weeks creating and downloading 40 of the best boxers (across all weight-classes) to ever enter the ring (both past and present) to go along with the boxers that came with the game. Now that I'm satisfied with my roster of boxers, I'm ready to watch these guys fight it out in the 'DLaren Tournament of Champions' league. Once the tournament is over, I will be creating an additional 25 "made-up" boxers (on a different XBOX) just for fodder and to fill-out some of the more empty weight-classes, then the league will begin.

I feel like I've put-together a decent list of guidelines, but I made this post to see if anyone else had any ideas that might improve on what I already have. Here is what I have so far:

    - First there will be a tournament to determine who takes the belt in each weight-class.
    - Afterwards, the losers will be ranked based on their performance in the tournament.
    - The lowest ranks will fight each other to see who gets the opportunity to fight amongst the higher ranks for a chance to move-up in the rank.

...That's where I'm stuck at the moment. After the tournaments are over and the srubs duke it out, I need to figure out who fights who for the opportunity to move-up in rank and challenge the champ. I have a few ideas but I haven't really fleshed them out yet, so I'm open to suggestions!

    Thanks in advance ...

How about assigning points to each boxer. So if boxer A beats boxer B, he receives so many points because he beat that boxer. This would help with rankings. Or instead of assigning points, the winning boxer receives the losing boxers "overall" rating as points.

If they win by KO, award a few more points. Win by decision, few more points, etc.
