Former champ Joey Gamache's lawsuit against the New York State Athletic Commission began this week. The suit alleges that the NYSAC allowed Arturo Gatti to fight well above the contracted weight limit at fight time. I saw the fight live and Gatti looked significantly bigger than Gamache. Gamache was no bum at 55-3 and a former super featherweight and lightweight champion, but was administered one of the most brutal beatings I have ever seen. It ended his career, and he suffered brain damage. Gatti was sceduled to testify for both sides. Gatti's death and the trial equals quite a coincidence since the fight happened over 8 years ago.

LOL, Parker-as long as you know I'm not espousing them here. Strictly coincidental as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah, I don't usually buy into them either. Just find the connections, however coincidental they are, interesting.

Can't jump to conclusions...but there is no way on earth his little wife was able to strangle him with a purse strap. No way. I could see her allowing somone to come into the apartment, but I will never believe she killed him herself.

                    It's a cold world, man.

My understanding is that he had a bruise on his head. Isn't the speculation that she KOed him in his sleep and then strangled him?

What's really weird is that I started a post last week on how I remember Gatti best, and it was because of that fight with Gamache. I must have passed out or something, because what I thought was my follow up wasn't.
