Re: Fight Frequency?
If you want to hurry and fight Ali and all those guys they retire fight every time you can the first two years (one training session) and then fight where you can get two training sessions per fight. I keep it at two sessions per fight, unless I need to focus on a particular attribute for an upcoming opponent; i.e. chin vs. power puncher. When I hit 27-28 years old I go every six months (three training sessions per fight).
As with all things in sports and life, balance is the key. -
Re: Fight Frequency?
I did every 3 months at first focusing on power. I was cracking skulls and rose fast. as I got higher in the ranks I found my self subject to counters and getting dropped.
now im going once a month focusing on speed and mvement and chin. now I have to out box folks bc my power is lacking, but I like the challenge.Follow me on Twitter - http://twitter.com/complex219Comment

Re: Fight Frequency?
What I do is after a fight I simulate the recovery days. Once those days are up I then schedule a fight, cause the rankings change in those recovery days,as well as guys become avaliable to fight. Once I schedule a fight I usually train twice. Depending on the opponent I may go to three training sessions.Comment

Good point cj. I will do that. I never thought about rankings changing in those two months.Comment

Re: Fight Frequency?
What ive noticed is that I can ko someone in the first round and only take 6 punches but then I have to take a month off for recovery time. Then I can turn around and have a grueling fight that goes to the cards and I still only take the month off for recovery time.
There needs to be a difference. If you dont get damaged then you dont need that much time off. And what happened to training camps? Boxers dont do a training session before a fight. They do a whole host of activities to prepare, not just one.
At most i hear I can do 3 activities before a fight. 3 activities in 3 months. That doesnt sound broken and arbitrary at all....Comment

I think the game, the boxing dynamic, beautifully done...what you've stated here about Legacy and in the other thread (Amatuer's Glitch) make legacy-mod fail miserably.
So why do we play this mode? Because of the asthetics I just mentioned. The gameplay, the real-life boxers/opponents, the graphics...etc. -or- the change of pace of playing a human opponent or fight now mode.
However, everything else, maybe minus stat-tracking, is horrid.
The message "system" is nothing short of annoying, training is/becomes mundane, the aforementioned MANDATORY rest period, the mandatory low-attributes for a freshly created boxer...all of these things, which are the meat and potatoes of LEGACY, are incomplete and illogical.
It's just a thrown together mode that makes it's money on the gameplay/boxing dynamic.
Why can't we hire a trainer who can increase our chances to gain even more pts for a training event or a cut-man who can decrease damage further than your regular guy -or- have a these corner people be able to maximize points better?
Instead of health taking 10 pts to increase maybe 8 or 6 the better the trainer/coach you've got.
