I had that happen too in my Kermit Cintron career,
I had this CPU boxer named Vasquez back out and I had to fight some replacement. It was messed up because this Vasquez guy only had a 68" reach and (Cintron has a 74") and the replacement opponent was actually bigger than me. This was early in my career (I was like 9(5)-0-0) so I was trying to avoid long boxers until my head movement and power developed.
So I went in and actually KO'd the replacement in the 2nd round. I was pretty sure I won the 1st round and at the start of the 2nd I flash KO'd him and went in for the kill and he never got up the 2nd time.
I was so mad that my original opponent ducked me I slated a 8 round fight against him, determined to kill him. I got him in the ring and with my ratings better than they were for the previous fight. I had him on the canvas three times in 6 rounds but he got up. After the third KD I went in for the kill, and he flash KD'd me. I'll admit I was fighting wild since I was overly motivated to KO him. In the 8th round I knew I was up on the cards, but I still fought for the KO....I went for a wild counter hook-haymaker and missed....then I got countered by a uppercut-haymaker and I was laid out....of course I didn't get up and lost. That upercut was the nastist KO I ever seen in a video game. Just the way my guy crumbled I knew the fight was done.....it sucked that it was my first loss of the career and the fight was scheduled in November....after the recovery period ended in January I wanted to schedule a rematch but Vasquez retired after that fight.
