    Stick with GOAT or no?

Tell me what you all think. I'm at a crossroads here. I noticed in the G.O.A.T setting the CPU punches do more damage and their stamina doesn't go down as swiftly as the players. Basically cheating.

This was confirmed when Parker posted his analysis that pretty much set that observation in concrete. I said what the hell and kept playing, for the simple fact that I had already went through a legacy dynasty on GOAT and ended up unifying all three belts regardless of the cheat.

I like a challenge, BUT, the CPU has started doing some **** that I dont think I'm going to give em a pass this time, and I MIGHT switch to the next difficulty level down. However, I DO NOT want an easy run through.

I'm thinking that if I'm used to playing GOAT, that any other level is going to be too easy now, ya know. Kinda like I'm just trapped playing GOAT now since thats the difficulty I started out of the box.

What would ya'll do in this situation.

Oh and by the way, the new cheat that the CPU has been utilizing lately is, the bastards are actually moving in the middle of their punch animations to escape my counters and or regular punches! I'm not bull****ting! We all know that you cant move and punch at the same time.

Once you throw a punch you're pretty much planted in place for a couple of seconds. CPU has been shifting back in the MIDDLE of the animations. Thats 2 strikes. Should I wait for the third strike, or just change difficulties now?

You can get a hard fight on Champ too. I achieved GOAT in legacy on GOAT and it was tough. However, the punching is more sim on Champ and it's nice to see my punches hurt some scrub without being in danger of getting flashed/stunned when I am not supposed to (my 100 chin and tough vs. their 70 power, etc.). Parker and a couple others have some good Champ sliders.

I've noticed this ALOT since the introduction of the counter window slider. I've also noticed the CPU countering my punch BEFORE my punch is thrown - ie. his counter animation begins a split second after my punch animation starts.

I've noticed the CPU changing punches in mid-animation (he throws a jab, it skips a frame right before it hits, and then I get hit with a hook) and doing some other weird animation related stuff, too.

As for whether or not to stick with GOAT, I can get a similar challenge on Champion because the fights seem to be more varied. On GOAT, there's a "formula" and if you stick to it, you can win. The problem is that it makes every fight pretty much the same. On Champion, the challenge, at least for me, is that each fight is different and that unpredictability creates tension.

You just summed it up for me. On GOAT everyone, including slow as crap Morrison and Foreman fight the same as Ali and Frazier...and all are defensive wizards. No, I'll take Champ where the fighters fight their style as long as the CPU OFF and DEF AI isn't too far apart (plus or minus two of each other).

I pointed this out very, very early on when people were setting offensive awareness to zero and defensive awareness to 10. Having them too far apart produces unexpected and usually undesirable results. I'm fully set actually on having them the same, whether it's 0/0, 5/5, or even 10/10.

You just took the words right out of my mouth with that one, lol. It all started with the new sliders because it didn't happen before. I've also noticed the animation swap up with punches morphing into a different punch.

I noticed in some of your posts you play on champion? I guess its safe to assume that you're seeing this **** happen in champ mode also?

I guess thats a wrap. I'll check out all of yous champ sliders and go ahead and switch to champ mode.

Kinda reminds me of Madden. GOAT is similar to All Madden where the CPU likes to cheat. Champion must be similar to All Pro where it plays closer to the player stats huh.

Since the DLC, I've been playing on GOAT and Champion and testing sliders. Most of the weirdness of seen on GOAT, but I have seen it on Champion too. Champion is the way to go - GOAT is great for a challenge, but just not realistic.

I think I've changed mine quite a bit since the last ones I posted. I would recommend you try Shaun's latest set as they should give you a pretty good experience.

If you can wait a couple of days, mine will be up.
