Tip for creating CAB's for legacy

I usually load 10-15 CAB's and make their rating 81 overall (more on why later) with their strength's at 90 (100 max for heart, cuts, chin and swelling if they are strengths) and weaknesses 50-60 with average ratings 60-70 and good ratings 70-80. Doing this allows the CAB's to have maybe one or two things at 100 by the time I climb the ladder, but that's usually it. Their overall is around 85 to a max 90 and they fight according to the AI I assign, therefore they aren't defensive psychics when they shouldn't be, ala Tommy Morrison and George Foreman. On GOAT any fighter will be but on Champion the CAB's and generated boxers have weaknesses and strengths and aren't all-powerful pugilists.

An example of above would be my Lightheavy B-Hop. His power, speed and accuracy are about 80 and his heart and chin are 100 with his toughness 90. His AI is counterpuncher as he is a defensive fighter first and not a volume puncher.

Another example would be my Lucian Bute CAB. I have his speed at 95 (for legacy purposes), head movement at 85 and power at 75 and 80. After a few years he's still 100 speed, but he has 85 and 90 power with 90ish head movement. His AI is unconventional (though he's mostly a counterpuncher in real life) and swelling 90 with cuts at 100.

Sidenote: cuts and swelling decrease for the CAB's over time just as they do for us, so you prolly should raise the swelling and cuts to 10 points more than it would be in reality.

What I usually do is DL CAB's if I don't have them and edit their ratings according to this scale for each skill set for an 81 CAB (cuts/swelling further down):

A++ 100 Think Ali's speed, Tyson's power or Willie Pep's head movement. Rare and elite, these guys have something named after them; Ali's jab, Tyson's hook/uppercut, etc.

A 90 Guys who can do one punch damage. For CAB purposes I think of Hagler and Hearns, etc. Will be 100 in three to four years of legacy.

A- 85 Guys have good, KO power. RJJ and Holyfield.

B+ 80-85 They will wear you down. In my mind I think of Hopkins and Sugar Ray Leonard. Will have a 90+ rating in three to six years.

B 75-80 Good but not great, will be 85-88 in three to six legacy years.

C 60-70 serviceable and there, but not a threat. Old Foreman's foot speed, Wlad Klitchko's chin.

    D - F 50-60 Terrible. Valuev's hand/foot speed.

As far as cuts and swelling it decreases about 1-5 points a year for CPU boxers, so anyone with a history of swelling or cutting should be an 80 starting out. Anyone that does it at times should be 90 and those who rarely do it 100. Gerry Cooney would get a 70, lol.

The reason for 81 overall is at 80 they max out at about 88 overall tops and at 82 they maxed at 93-100. 81 is about right. Let me know what you guys think! It makes the legacies more fun for me.

Re: Tip for creating CAB's for legacy

As I suggested in the Slider thread, the simplest solution is just not to include CABs or the pre-created boxers in your legacy. The auto-created fighters progress realistically and aren't supermen late in legacy.

Of course, that means every boxer in your legacy will be completely fictitious, so this method might not be for everyone.

CAB's do well if you keep them below a certain rating. You can't give them their full allotment of points or those that don't retire will be Superman in trunks.

Sounds great I'm lazy and I think I'll download the CABs from you if you upload them

I have a bunch of light heavies and heavies already if you want them, I just need to DL them. I have a few that are online, but they aren't 81 overall. They are the full alloted stats except for a couple.

Below is a link to the CAB's I loaded specifically for legacy mode. By July 2011 they are 85 to 87 overall and 25 to 30 years old. They make legacy more fun for me, especially when I get to KO David Haye, lol. I just DL'd them and edited the stats and AI. Some are fictitious boxers just to make it more interesting. I place them all in the top 20 so I can have a challenge when I get up there against younger fighters instead of beat down licensed boxers.

            You can find them here.

Ok, Wes, now you have no excuse, lol. Let me know how these work for you guys.
