    One final complaint about FNR4...

I picked up the case this morning and thought about trading the game in, now that I've finished all the offline achievements.

The Online World Championship was a great IDEA. Something different.

But who in the WORLD thought it was a good idea to attach achievements to those belts when you knew that only one person could ever hold that belt?

This might be the dumbest implementation of achievements since the 360 came out.

Trading FN4 in? Man, you've gone nuts, lol. Sports titles are always a keeper, every game is dynamic, never the same man. Replay value through the roof with sports games.

I've got OCD man. I can't play more than one game at once. In order to move on to a new game, I've got to trade the old one in.

Add to it that I don't have a Live Gold membership and don't really like playing online anyway, and even sports games get boring and monotonous after a while.

That's why I now have a PS3 (Slim), the XBox live gold costing money. That and I have a job finally (started last week, laid off seven months). It was a good move, turns out the wife loves video games, but hated the 360 controllers, lol.

I think he was being sarcastic and if he's not then he should be.

No, I'm pretty sure he was serious. I know alot of people that play sports games over and over again and only stop playing them when a new version comes out. I'm just not one of them.

This game is pretty dynamic and never really the same and add to the fact that 5 probably isn't coming out til 2011 and I agree this is a keeper. Other sports games though its tough to justify keeping them when there is always a new one coming out every year and this gen a lot of sports games have been hit or miss.

But man, TBH I haven't truly played this game for months. I've had it since a couple days after launch but just too much other games to play keeping me from this game. Also, the Legacy mode bug where you can't move up a weight class absolutely killed this game for me. I had an awesome Legacy going on until I ran into that. Before that happened I had a serious crack addiction to this game but now not so much.

I have played a few online games but it sucks ***. Those guys that constantly throw body punches annoy the **** out of me.

I don't see this at all, unless you're talking about playing online.

The Legacy mode, while very promising, ended up being horribly shallow. They spent alot of time creating an engine that could gather statistical data but with no STORY. The data itself is immense - the game literally keeps track of everything. But the front end - the "presentation"- is downright poor.

A perfect example is belts changing hands. You get an email that vaguely says to check the rankings. However, checking the rankings shows only THIS week and the PREVIOUS week. If a belt changed hands 3 weeks ago, while you were simming the days leading up to training or a fight, it doesn't show in the rankings at all. The only way to really see it is to go back and read through the fight recaps, which is really tedious. Of course, a simple fix would be to have the emails actually be specific and USEFUL.

The late Legacy is worthless. You end of fighting the same 4 or 5 guys over and over again. The training games are very difficult or impossible for some people and for some like me, they became ridiculously easy. In either case, it makes them feel like a waste of time, but you feel compelled to do them lest your boxer not progress to the best of his ability. The end-of-year awards are nice, but lack depth.

The bottom line is that the Legacy mode ends up being a linear progression that gets boring fairly quickly.

Fight Now is fun, but there's really no "point" - without some kind of objective, it's essentially a mini-game. Again, it gets boring and repetitive pretty fast.

I was talking about the gameplay. I do agree with most of what you said though.

                      The gameplay is great, absolutely.

But it's akin to playing just the battles in an RPG like Final Fantasy - after a while you realize you're not "going anywhere" and there's no point. Ultimately, if I'm going to play a game for a long time, it has to be immersive and FNR4 just isn't.
