Jermain Taylor withdraws from Super Six

Jermain Taylor withdraws from the Super Six:

Good call by "Bad Intentions." He was knocked out brutally in his last two fights, against Froch and Abraham. He's risking serious injury by continuing his career.

Who replaces Taylor? Allan Green is a candidate, but I would love to see Lucian Bute. He looked great in his rematch with Librado Andrade last month.

Another question: How can scoring be done fairly for Taylor's replacement since he will have one less fight than the other five participants?

IMO, he has to take Taylor's loss because he's his replacement. I would love to see Bute.

It will be Bika after he beats Green.

Bute will continue to defeat all and wait for the winner of the Super Six in a megafight.

Point blank Taylor shouldn't have been in the tournament anyway. I never though he had skills. He holds his gaurd too low making it easy for him to get hit. Either way, the replacement wont win against the competition that's already there. I think Ward will take the title.

I'm glad Taylor saw the writing on the wall. Four losses in his last 5 fights, with 3 of them ending in a horrific KO isn't something to take lightly.

I hope he can rest and come back better than ever.
But if I was someone close to him, I'd tell him to retire. He's never been the same after the first Pavlik fight.

And it's not like LHW is going to be that much easier than SMW. There's some dudes that can throw down there too.

Bute...that would be awesome. I'd rather see that than watch him outclass Pavlik.

Interesting analysis of a boxer that defeated Bernard Hopkins TWICE. No skills...........SIGH

On a serious note I wish that Taylor was more emphatic about an all-out retirement rather than time off from boxing-still a step in the right direction.
