Clottey's not just the biggest fighter Pac's faced but I think he's also the first in a while that hasn't had some kind of mental or physical problem going into the ring. Physically and mentally Clottey has it together and he's very hungry.

Remember how Cotto was bothering Manny by timing him in the first round?

Clottey is much better and far more consistant at that strategy.

Just my oppinion though. I don't really have a pick in the fight. Not sure.

i also agree with the OP.everyone is sleeping on clottey,mostly cause the casual fan has never even heard of him!my friend said something to me last night when i asked if he was coming over to watch the fight he says yea he is but he wants to know who this clottey guy is!

Pac's body build didn't look very strong to me in the road to Dallas show last night...............or maybe I was just comparing him to Clottey


Pac isn't KOing him without the aid of a cut. I'll be highly surprised if this fight is close and exciting. Clottey's style hardly ever looks good and Pac doesn't have the power to break him down IMO................

so this will be a ugly looking event with Pac pulling away toward the end with sheer number of punches.......but I don't see Clottey getting in any danger unless he gets cut.

there is an article in the other thread stating how Clottey is training in terrible conditions without his trainer. So things aren't looking good for him.

I agree. Clottey poses much more of a threat to Manny than Cotto. The only disadvantage of Clottey IMO is his lack of killer instinct. Because of that he was not successful in finishing Cotto off in the later rounds.

From the articles I've read, Pacquiao has been training like a beast. So we shall see.

It'll be interesting to see how Pacquiao can penetrate Clottey's peek-a-boo defense.

This fight will go the distance.

I think this alone screws Clottey. He's never trained with this guy since his regular (and I believe first and only trainer) could not get a visa to enter the US. I liked clottey until i heard this last week....things definitely do not look good for clottey now. That's a huge deal to lose your regular trainer...look at cotto since his uncle stopped training him (right before the pac fight too i believe).

Clottey biggest issue is that he tends not to finish fights. He fights consistently for several rounds but as he wears his opponent down he tends to add that littler extra something to put his guy away. He had Margarito for the taking, he had Cotto.

I believe he will wear Manny down but it will take more than that to get a decision over Pac. Judges aren't gonna let a guy barely beat the P4P champ, Clottey has to go and take this fight.

Just to add, I agree with the new trainer issue for Clottey. Alot of fighters switch trainers but in a fight of this magnitude this has to be seen as a negative for Clottey. Had this been Glass Joe and he switched trainers, not so much. But a virtual unknown as head trainer (not saying he doesn't have corner experience b/c he does) going into the biggest fight of his career, doesn't bold well for Clottey.

OK, the way PacMan beat Cotto, a fighter Clottey recently lost too, why the love for Clottey?-he's got a slight height and reach advantage, but everything points to a fairly easy Manny victory. Could Clottey pull off an upset? Highly unlikely. Two words: DESTRUCTION & DESTROY (got that from Marvin Hagler)
