    philly shell?

I finally got FN4 and I'm enjoying it. I do see problems with the AI being countering machines, Ali being very good and extremely fast, and the controls in general are kinda sloppy and lagging to me. But that not what I'm here for. I've read about the philly shell, but I don't fully understand it. I've looked at some clips of James Toney and I got a better understanding, but how you use it in the game? I get my head beat in when I use it.

The philly shell is more so a blocking technique than a way of holding your hands. I've actually done amateur boxing and never saw that style. The biggest problem I see is the boxers not leading with their shoulder. The stand in a regular blocking standing when they shouldn't.

I have done amateur and pro boxing. The philly style of defense do exist, Mayweather, James Toney and many other boxers use it.

The Philly style is the best style for counter punchers.

Philly Shell is like the style Mayweather uses with the shoulder roll.
