    ESPN 2's FNF March 19th Latimore vs Powell

    ESPN 2’s Friday Night Fights is at the Choctaw Event Center tonight, featuring an IBF Light Middleweight Title Eliminator, in a rematch between Sechew Powell and Deandre Latimore. Powell enters at 25-2 with 15 knockouts, and Latimore is 20-2 with 16 knockouts. The fight will be televised at 9 p.m. Central time.

    Latimore handed Powell one of his two losses in the summer of 2008, with a seventh-round knockout.

    The top undercard bout will be between Edwin “La Bomba” Rodriguez and George “The Rooster” Armenta. Rodriguez is currently undefeated at 13-0 with nine knockouts.

    March 19
    At Durant, Okla. (ESPN2): Deandre Latimore vs. Sechew Powell, rematch, 12 rounds, IBF junior middleweight eliminator;

    Edwin Rodriguez vs. George Armenta, 8 rounds, super middleweights;

    Carson Jones vs. Delray Raines, 6 rounds, super middleweights;

    Chauncey Welliver vs. Mike Sheppard, 10 rounds, heavyweights;

    Prenice Brewer vs. Chris Fernandez, 6 or 8 rounds, junior welterweights;

    Jonathan Gonzalez vs. Rodrigo Villereal, 6 rounds, welterweights
    Looks like it's gonna be good main event with the rematch of Latimore/Powell. Also look out for "La Bomba" Rodriguez to continue his tear up the ranks!

    Watching now..Powell vs Latimore is looking good so far. Latimore seemed like he had the upper hand early, if only slightly but Powell had a nice round and knocked out Latimore's mouth piece. Good work by both southpaws through 4.

      Powell is working and move late here through 8, boxing well and as long as he stays off the ropes he should win. Latimore seems tired, and the swellin in his face isnt helping.

        I have Powell 7 rounds to 5. Let's see how close I came.

          Whew, some of those scores are close, but at least the right guy won from my POV.

            Yeah they were a bit close. But it was a good fight. Back and forth. Latimore's face looked like hamburger at the end. Powell was really tough defensively with his movements. Good stuff all around.

              This was a very solid fight, as was the last undercard bout. People who only watch big PPV fights are missing out on quality sports entertainment by skipping smaller cards like those on FNF or Fox Sports' "Fight Night" cards.

              I was more entertained by Powell-Latimore than Pacquiao-Clottey, and Powell-Latimore didn't cost me a dime. Plus you learn about boxing and are entertained any time Teddy Atlas is on the air.

                Teddy Atlus is my hero. That guy is great. You can tell he's a good mentor to those he trains. I remember when I first started watching him on FNF I thought "Man this guys taken 1 too many punches" but really I take that back. LOL

                  I STRONGLY recommend you read Teddy's autobiography. I just finished it last month. What an interesting, checkered life Teddy has led, but integrity always has been at his core despite many admitted mistakes.

                  Read this book, dude. It's fantastic.
