MMA Demo getting Good reviews = Positives for FN Champion?

Those who've played the MMA demo are saying that stamina is linked to everything; punching, submissions, blocking, swaying, etc.
So you can't spam blocking and think it's not going to affect you.

I hope FN Champ adopts this as well.

I can't help but think about how much better FN4 would have been if this type of stamina was in place. It's the first thing I noticed in the MMA demo.

A few other things that the MMA game does well...

Stunning Opponent: There's a "stun state" in MMa but there is no delay or slow down. Remembering how in FN4 when you stun your opponent it sort of feels like you are both in water moving..that's not how it is in MMA. It's all very fast and you have to react quickly.

Footwork: Footwork is much faster and responsive in MMA. There is a sliding feel at times but I'd trade that for what seemed like lateral movement in FN4.

Jabs: It's crazy how well jabs work in MMA. You actually can keep your opponent at bay. In fact, I had a jab stop my opponent in his track as he tried to pursue me.

Those are just a few things I hope Champion can duplicate.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

Very cool Dave. Thanks for posting your impressions on the MMA game.
I'm going to download tonight and try it myself. I'm not much of a MMA fan but it might be fun to see how they improved on the FN engine (which I believe was used to build EA MMA).

I'd gladly pay $60 for a boxing game that incorporates everything the MMA game is putting forth. I'm not huge on groundfighting, so it would be pretty neat.

The one thing the EA MMA game lacks is AI and authencity from fighter to fighter. I had better fight in easy mode than any other setting. I was able to box more. I hate the ground game.

The stamina system works wonders but when you have your opponent against the cage, your stamina does not decrease at all. Even when on the ground. Punching in the rib area does not decrease your stamina.

I HATE the sliding punches. You cannot box if you wanted to. You can only fight going forwards and that's it. That's not realistic punching. I understand they want to concentrate more on the ground game but come on, you cannot slide with every punch!!!

They better NOT have sliding with every punch in Fight Night Champions. I'll be PISSSED!! I am from the EA Sports Fight Night Community and I have been voicing my concerns along with Reign, Shak and the rest of the community.

Is there a stationary cam in MMA or is it all swivel cams like FN?

If MMA is a sign of things to come in FN....I guess the presentation won't be much better than FN4.

Not too impressed with the EA MMA presentation compared to UFC 2010.

I heard the career mode is tremendous though. That's what I'm hoping to see in FN Champion.

I'm not a huge MMA fan, but I somehow found myself playing that demo for a few hours the other night. It's oddly absorbing - and while the ground game/fence stuff is very tedious, I do enjoy the submission aspect of the game quite a bit. Nothing like triangle-choking out some fool after they thought they had you in a vulnerable position after a take-down...

But I don't like punching with the R stick...just seems too slow and difficulty, if not impossible, to string together combos the way I would like to. Maybe I just need to get used to it, but if I wanted to throw a right hook to the body, followed by a left hook to the body, followed by a right uppercut, it seems really tough to enter those commands with any precision or rapidity on the R analog stick. I would honestly rather have buttons for punches - the R analog is too unwieldly, inaccurate, and slow for my tastes...
