Re: FN: Champion Blog #3 - Community Questions

What kind of online multiplayer modes are there ? Single player legacy mode is a big disappointment for me. I was really hoping for an online multiplayer career/legacy mode. .

2 year devolopement cycle, can't wait to see what they accomplished.

Tyson had a respectable chin but we didn't really learn that until he was in decline. When he was young he was too hard to hit!

Tyson had one of the best chins as a heavy weight - id rate him in the mid 90s, cant believe this is even questioned honestly

yes - on a flash KO do you have a chance to try and rise to your feet or is it a special animation where you just know the fight is over?? I hope these animations are different than a regular knockdown.

first part already answered : 1 Punch KO - Is just that. One clean punch landed which KOed the opponent and there is no get up "mini game". You got caught flush, your fighter is out the fight, fight over.
is it a different type of animation than a regular knockdown? thanks!

do you have the option to turn the knockdown game off and auto rise- they did that several years ago.

and finally- do you have the option to take a knee yourself if you are getting bludgeoned. I think they had that in the PS2 version and I would love to see it back

No there is no option to take a knee. But it was not because they could not put it in. They were going to have it in and then realized it would of been abused by some cheap kids. Knowing they are losing and each time you are about to put them down they take a knee over and over. Sure you win but how frustrating would that be. So they just removed it for gameplay "fun factor" reasons.

hey Phobia thanks again for the write up on this -

is there more realistic swelling and facial damage this year (ie eyes swelling shut, broken noses etc) other than just what we've seen as far as the blood pouring out all over the place? I really hope they improved that area

                  tks

                    No problem Wyrm

The swelling looks MUCH better. Broken noses look like "broken noses" lol. The blood and cuts was a bit exaggerated, but they said they were going to bring it down to more realistic levels through tuning. Basically better to work from too extreme down to a more realistic level.

The screenshots efinitely aren't a good sign. The game is still just too dark. It's as if the makers just live in this time warp where boxing hasn't progressed past the 1970's.

I agree. It should have more lighting. Especially in the screenshots that I have seen.

Any news on Create-a-Fighter? I read in the other thread you were talking about 100 CAF slots--- I'm more interested in the CAF mode ITSELF. Did you get to see anything new about Gameface, appearance options, etc?

I'm a little concerned with speed in the game after watching that xbox live interview. Maybe it was on arcade mode or something, but i don't like just seeing punches just flying. I want to see more technique and strategy not just wild punches. I would like to see boxers box , sluggers who try to get inside and duke it out and counterpunchers.

Plus the footwork didn't match the handspeed, still had that slow hopping back

I think that was HUM vs HUM. That was not CPU vs CPU from my experience with the game. Plus the stamina we experience at community day it was impossible to throw all the punches that was in the video. Must be them tuning the stamina.
