    Did Prizefighter die?

I never played it, as I don't own an Xbox 360. But did it die or will there be a new one coming?

I actually thought the game was fun. With some work they could've made it a competitive title.

It suffered from sluggish controls and a terrible scoring system that took into consideration only the number of punches landed. So if you landed 35 out of 90 jabs you'd win the round over someone that landed 20 out of 25 hooks and 14 out of 20 uppercuts. (35>20+14). Foot positioning in throwing power punches worked well, but would have been much better without the slightly delayed responses.

If they made a sequel, I'd buy it. There were many flaws, but that's cause the game was rushed. It had a solid foundation though.

I would also buy the sequel.

Really I thought the only thing that killed it was the hook to the body. You could see that coming from across the street other than that it was solid. And the career or story was basically what EA is doing now and I personally thought it was alot of fun.
EDIT: And now that I think about 2K's story mode.........

                Re: Did Prizefighter die?

I liked Prize Fighter. The Jab worked well and felt like it had snap. It had true 1 punch KO'
                s.

Best video game boxing matches I ever had against the AI were:
                1. Sugar Ray Leonard on the original fight night for PS2. I lost a 15(i think it was 15 for some reason) round decision with my Created Cotto. I rematched and lost again and never won that Title. SR would dance in and out and I could never get him cornered.

                2. The Steroid guy in Prize Fighter. That guy would not quit coming at you. He was ahead on points and was was going in for the kill when I 1 punched KO'd him in the 11th.
                Chalepa Ta Kala.....

co-sign. I liked the game outside of the negatives you mentioned. A better scoring system and hit detection would have worked wonders for that title. That game should have received a patch.
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

Yeah, I had success throwing power punches with Pavlik, and achieved something like a 35-12 record online. Many times I'd knock my opponent out, and many times I'd win easily by throwing the jab and simply outpointing those oblivious to the scoring system.

Agreed. It had some flaws, but there was some fun to be had if you could look past them. The saying "you get out what you put in" (or however it goes) describes PF perfectly. I love landing those stepping punches as counters when my opponent comes in.
