this is more of an issue with operator than tyson. dont want to get 1 punch kod? dont be stupid, its that simple. its not like its automatic but if you get it with a super clean punch then the chances go up that youre getting ktfo

Yeah I know I hate the fact that it's not going to be able to download till 9...I might be able to get in a few fights before I have to crash...I got a busy day at work so can't stay up late playing it...Does anyone know when the demo we are going to be playing was made? like how much has changed with the game since the demo was put together??

Like someone explained, aside from the fact that this was a well post prime tyson (the one in the game is supposed to be prime), this was after round after round of punishment and clean shots. if it were fight night, there would have been maybe 8-10 1 punch Ko's in the fight. The example we were talking about was should Ali be able to 1 punch Ko Tyson, in other words, fight over, no chance to get up, in the first or 2nd round, just because he hits him clean with a shot, and the game decides with whatever pecentages it uses, okay its 1 punch KO time. I dont think so.

This might be fixed by the time the full game comes out...But yeah I'm not for Mike Tyson being ko'd by one punch by Ali...If it was Foreman,Lewis or Wladimir maybe but Ali shouldn't be able to unless it was in the 6th round or later.

B-eautiful game i have to say 1st off.

Commentary blows...Its terrible and sounds 100% re-hashed, but worse. Oh well i usually mute that anyway after a half dozen fights, so no big worries there.

FSP just seems like a stick mash affair. Thats really all i got out of it. Was unimpressed and, while i felt in control (never had an issue with the analog punching ever really, refuse to use buttons) i also felt like i was just going through the motions.

Punches lack "POP" of any kind.

Seems, from the DEMO at least, that this will be a rock em sock em robots affair. Stamina definitely has to be set to the lowest difficulty, cuz i threw ENDLESS punches every round and really say NO ILL EFFECTS to speak of whatsoever.

But its a day 1 buy 100% for me...But i definitely have a few concerns, mainly the stamina issue, but i also see the new punching as kind of a step back...WAY to easy to spam punches just like using buttons.

Will give it more time tonight, but i think i have a good feel for what to expect and i am excited albeit a bit worried.

            Time will tell.

                It's 1.05 GB. I had to clear a bunch of demo's too. Currently at 27% D/L.

I am impressed. They have really stepped their game up it seems. I may buy now.

The career mode looks really good as well. Love that you have so many attributes to tweak, it is like a Boxing RPG.

it's how long it takes to complete a punch. You won't notice it if you're fresh...it really sticks out if you're a bit gasses, one punch needs to complete before the next one you que'd up flies out.

Maybe there is a way, but it makes me want to 'punch cancel'. It's fine though, nothing crazy.

oh and just to comment on FSP - I like it because of the additional punches (hookercuts, overhands) that's great! and it doesn't really screw up what you want like previous games not understanding what you want, or pulling back for a hook and just not punching even though you follow through. It's worlds better this way.

Graphically it is incredible. I have no problems throwing single punches like some have claimed here. Commentary is terrible..They really need to go to an arena sound model with cornerman shouting pointers, crowd banter, and ref instructions. Just put the boxing commentary to bed. Relegate Teddy to talking between rounds breaking down previous action and gut the live action commentary.
Footwork gets a C-/D+ imo. This is an improvement as I gave FNR4 an F- in this category. They could really use a movement modifier button to open up more free flowing movement similar to ufc 2009. Something as simple as pushing in the left stick could perform that act. Saying people will run is not an excuse to not have it in. They still included a dedicated head butt and gonad buster button so I see no problem in including a movement modifier one. I have played many online matches so far and have met no shortage of people who don't mind using those dirty punches.

Good effort by EA nonetheless but they have not fixed movement completely and it is still way too important in the sport of boxing to not be.
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

GREAT!!!! except for being able to throw 400 punches without being gassed.

Graphics look good, I attribute to the move back to 30fps (could be wrong, but seems like 30fps to me) like FNR3. The only thing I will be disappointed in is the lack of fighters, but we can fix that per fight share. Can't wait...i'll fight more strategically later on to have some real impressions.

FNC is an obvious upgrade to me over R4

with that said theres much more for them to do get into that The Show...NBA 2K type level in terms of sim

and some of those things just won't happen yet....we're going to have to wait another game most likely

But there are some things that could be tuned to make FNC a really nice step in the right direction.........but the devs have to want to make it more sim......

                                things like

                                Punch Reactions
                                Increased Punching Power
Way....Way..Way..Less Punch Accuracy, especially if your the one who gets hit 1st
Head Snapping Jab and appropriate Swelling to go with it
                                Increased Short Term Stamina Loss
Getting Rid of the Perfect Block and so called "Counter Windows"
Hell just making the game have Sim settings presentation for Online

I think those are things they could very much still get right with FNC......if like I said before.....they truly want a closer simulation to the sport of boxing
