absolutely not, any notifications like a screen sway, yes, eliminate counterpunching, hell no thats the main point of boxing. to eliminate the fact that landing a counter is more devistating than just a normal punch would destroy the game. If you want to remove all notifications that you might land a counter, than thats a different animal and that i actually agree with.

I agree with this whole-heartedly. I think people have a distaste for the counter-window in this game because of the way it is tipped-off or indicated but in a real boxing match "counter-windows" exist all the time. Mayweather and Sweet Pea Whitaker made their livings off of this. If you throw a right jab and i move my head left and make you miss well right there a "counter-window" has opened up for me to throw a left uppercut. In FN4, yes, the windows were a little long but to take them out completely wouldn't improve the game at all IMO.

counter opportunities exist in boxing, not stylized windows. Get rid of the 'window'.

It should be done with boxer animations only.

I think the creation of the thread was to eliminate the slowdown/notification, not counter punching completely. At least, that was the impression I was under when I replied with a yes. The opportunity for a counter is always obvious, too obvious. It's far too "gamey" for my tastes. Then again, this game is "gamey" in so many other ways, that maybe it's best left in.
