Petition to put straights and jabs in close range(disagree)

You cant throw straight punches from close in, when i play as manny pacman, it just doesnt feel like him close in. i wanna be able to throw 1-2 combos close in. please bring close straights back in!

What the....? You can't throw straights or jabs while on the inside! I'm shocked at the people who signed this. It's nearly impossible! Joe Louis was the only boxer I know who could throw a short right hand and he still needed some space to pull this off.

In boxing you need space to be effective even if you are an inside fighter. It's called smothering your punches. If you are in too tight.

I think it should be added, there's times when I throw two jabs but because my opponent comes in close I do two left hooks & get countered, if they do add up close jabs & straights they should be useless, it's just a case of if I want to throw a jab but my opponent comes in close, it should still be a jab but not be effective & can be countered, instead of it turning into a hook & giving my opponent a better chance at countering me...

Oh, what you are saying is jab momentum. You already have your jab pumping, but if you are a weak puncher against an aggressive and strong fighter you shouldn't be able to keep him off you. You need to move around.

If clinch was in the game correctly I think it would make throwing hooks on the inside instead of a jabs less a both. I actually think the jab when you are in too close should cancel out when someone tries to use it. You shouldn't throw a hook unless you want to throw a hook with the proper spacing. The producers and fans need to understand what smothering punches is, it's not being able to throw punches when in too close at all or effectively.

People need to stop asking for unrealistic things in a sports game. I'm getting tired of people wanting things in the game that doesn't exist.

Of course you can throw a jab and crosses at close range. My boxing instructor taught me this in my first month. A jab could be long distance or the jab can be modify as a short range punch that can be turned into a hook or create separation.

I don't understand how that is unrealistic and more than Joe Lewis use these punches. Having these punches would have more depth than the ai automatically turning all punches into hooks.

I also will say this, everybody that teaches someone something doesn't mean it's right(including me). My accomplishments and experience as a short Heavyweight amateur and pro(moreso as Am) helps me see what is doable and effective.

I am a 6'3" with a very long wing span. I was always getting crowded. So, when you crowd me what are my options? Are my only options is to throw hooks and upper cuts or can I shorten my jabs and my straights? If you are a long arm fighter then you need compact punches when someone get into you space.

You don't need a lot of space to throw effective punches. Some of the best punchers are very compact with their delivery. I am 40 now and I still use and practice those punches.

I'm trying to establish what you guys are trying to consider close range? Do you think you should be able to jab and throw straights from all these distances?
